Florida State (6-0) will play host to USF (4-2) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
Right-hander Conner Whittaker (0-0, 3.38 ERA) will get the start. Whittaker struck out six batters in 5.1 innings in his season debut last week at Jacksonville, a 7-4 Florida State victory.
USF has not yet named a starter.
It will be interesting to see what happens over the long haul as the weekend rotation will adjust eventually, but Whittaker in the midweek role is a big edge for FSU against a quality in-state program.
FSU leads the nation with 16.3 strikeouts per nine innings.
FSU is 73-16 all-time against the Bulls, with wins in three straight. The Seminoles topped the Bulls 7-6 in 13 innings a year ago. Nander De Sedas hit a two-run walk-off double after the Bulls had scored a pair of runs in the top of the 13th.
The Seminoles are now ranked by Perfect Game
Jamie Arnold was named the ACC player of the week
