8 p.m. - Traffic info. from Florida State Police Dept.

FSUPD is advising everyone to add extra time for travel to ensure early arrival to the game and plan for some delays.

Parking lot access will differ from regular home games, and Seminole Express bus service will not be available.

• Lot 9 will still be utilized for ADA along with the normal shuttle.

Law enforcement also is reminding fans of the traffic pattern around the downtown area (see maps below):

TRAFFIC INSTRUCTIONS:

Pre-Game

Fans are encouraged to use the following roadways to gain access to parking on and around FSU’s campus. (see map below)
  • From the north, use Stadium Drive for parking on the west side of Doak Campbell or Macomb Street and Bronough Street to Pensacola Street for parking on the east side of Doak Campbell.
  • From the east, use Pensacola or Gaines streets.
  • From the west, use Pensacola or Tennessee streets to Stadium Drive.
  • From the south, use Lake Bradford Road.
Expect traffic to be especially heavy on Tennessee Street, West Pensacola Street, South Monroe Street, Gaines Street, Lake Bradford Road and Orange Avenue before and after the game. Travel north and south across the inbound routes will be delayed due to the traffic control pattern from two (2) hours before kickoff until approximately 30 minutes after kickoff (weather delays not included), especially along Macomb Street and Copeland Street. Those wishing to move from the north to the south or south to the north would be asked to move around the edge of the pre-game traffic pattern instead of trying to travel through it.

The traffic signals along West Pensacola Street will be set to “flash” pregame to give priority to westbound traffic traveling along that route toward Doak Campbell Stadium. Tallahassee PD will be on post along this route two hours prior to the game. TPD will also take control of the lights and intersections two hours before kickoff. Other intersections closer to Doak Campbell Stadium will be controlled by TPD or other Law Enforcement Agencies as much as five (5) hours before the start of the game.

Post-Game (see map below)

After the game is finished, West Pensacola Street east of the stadium will be modified to flow one-way for eastbound traffic only, heading away from the stadium. Traffic signals along West Pensacola Street from Champions Way to Duval Street will “flash” to give priority to traffic heading eastbound. St. Augustine Street between Varsity Drive and South Monroe Street will continue to flow one-way for eastbound traffic only, helping to carry additional traffic away from the stadium. There will be a detour established to keep fans leaving the game on Madison Street flowing continuously out Apalachee Parkway while also keeping surface traffic north and south on Monroe Street flowing.

Southbound traffic on Monroe Street will be rerouted to College Avenue to travel under Apalachee Parkway via Franklin Boulevard/East Lafayette Street and back to Monroe Street via Gaines Street. Northbound Monroe Street traffic will be routed to Gaines Street to travel under Apalachee Parkway via East Lafayette Street/Franklin Boulevard and back to Monroe Street via College Avenue. Fans heading away from the stadium on Gaines Street eastbound will be directed to turn south onto Monroe Street.

To give fans priority in leaving the area following the game, northbound traffic will not be allowed on Springhill Road from Orange Avenue to Gaines Street nor will southbound traffic be allowed on Stadium Drive from Tennessee Street.

To get our visitors home as quickly as possible, West Pensacola Street will flow in an eastbound direction after the game. All lanes of West Pensacola Street will flow one-way away from the stadium, as will St. Augustine Street, in an effort to reduce the traffic congestion. After the game, all traffic signals along St. Augustine Street/Madison Street will be flashing to give priority to vehicles traveling eastbound, away from the stadium. Fans traveling eastbound on Pensacola Street will be directed north on Duval Street. Fans traveling eastbound on St. Augustine Street/Madison Street will be directed further eastbound on Apalachee Parkway. Fans traveling eastbound on Gaines Street will be directed south on Monroe Street.

There will be a detour established to keep fans leaving the game on Madison Street flowing continuously out Apalachee Parkway while also keeping surface traffic north and south on Monroe Street flowing. Southbound traffic on Monroe Street will be rerouted to College Avenue to travel under Apalachee Parkway via Franklin Blvd/East Lafayette Street and back to Monroe Street via Gaines Street. Northbound Monroe Street traffic will be routed to Gaines Street to travel under Apalachee Parkway via East Lafayette Street/Franklin Blvd and back to Monroe Street via College Avenue.

Please see the attached maps for further details regarding inbound and outbound traffic patterns for the games.

FSU announces tickets will cost $10 online, but increase to $15 if you buy in person on game day. Here's the full release from FSU:

Florida State University’s football game against Boise State scheduled for Saturday at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Fla., will now be played on the Seminoles’ home field at Doak Campbell Stadium at 12:00 p.m. The threat of Hurricane Dorian along the entire east coast of Florida necessitated the change.

“After consulting with emergency responders, law enforcement and hurricane preparedness teams at the state and local level, moving the game is the best option given the information we have at this time,” said FSU Director of Athletics David Coburn.

“We regret having to move the venue in particular because of the tremendous work that the City of Jacksonville has invested in this event. They have been great partners, and we are disappointed that the game had to be moved. Our fans were very much looking forward to the experience.”

All tickets previously purchased for the game in Jacksonville will be refunded. Florida State will sell $10.00 general admission tickets online. Fans are strongly urged to purchase tickets online at www.noles.co/GA. There will be no reserved seating in the stadium. FSU and Boise State students with valid IDs will be admitted free of charge.

Tickets can be purchased at the Dick Howser Stadium box office at Doak Campbell on game day, but the price will increase to $15. Tickets ordered online on game day will remain at the $10 price.

“I want to thank the City of Jacksonville and Mayor Lenny Curry for their exceptional work in putting together what was going to be an outstanding event,” said FSU President John Thrasher. “I also want to thank Governor Ron DeSantis and our city and county officials for their cooperation in staging a game on such short notice, particularly our local law enforcement agencies.”

With the exception of parking lots 1-6, which are reserved for game staffing and Golden Chief Boosters, the parking lots that service Doak Campbell Stadium will be free of charge to the general public and will open at 7:00 a.m. A map showing available parking will be posted on Seminoles.com Friday morning.

The Spirit Express bus service from the Tucker Civic Center WILL NOT be available for the game.

12:15 p.m. ET

Expecting official release from FSU shortly. But some details:

General admission tickets will be $10 and available through the FSU ticket office. Hearing Champions Club tickets will be available for $50.

Game will air at noon on ESPNews.

Jacksonville tickets will be refunded this week.

11:10 a.m. ET

Definitely moving to Doak. Looks like noon.

11:00 a.m. ET

Florida Governor DeSantis said he spoke to FSU president John Thrasher about Saturday's game. Said "he thinks" the game will not be played in Jacksonville but will instead be played in Tallahassee.

More details to come....

10:35 a.m. ET

From what I'm hearing, FSU has put some contingency plans in place to possibly play the game at Doak on Saturday ... just in case that ends up being the decision. IMPORTANT: That doesn't mean the game is moving to Doak. But I've been told by someone with knowledge of the situation that work is under way IN CASE that happens. Just so that it's an option if the powers that be want to do it. As you can imagine, a million things would have be done in a short amount of time. So it makes sense that they would start some of these processes just in case.

Will post more as we know it.

---

10:10 a.m. ET

As many people suggested this morning, it was going to be very difficult for officials to make a decision without a new forecast at 8 a.m. So once the Hurricane Center decided not to do the next one til 11 a.m., it sounds like the decision will be delayed.

Guessing sometime between 11-12 ET at the earliest.

9:10 p.m. ET:

Hey folks, just want to follow up and provide a little context as we wait for a decision to be made tomorrow morning ...

The meetings this afternoon were very lengthy, and from what I understand, several scenarios were discussed. The one scenario that most people seem to support, as we've said earlier, is playing in Jacksonville at noon. That would cause the least problems for all parties involved.

Moving the game to another location is a logistical nightmare for a lot of reasons ... everything from staffing to facility preparations to tickets to emergency personnel to TV crews to concessions ... you can't just make all that happen with a blink of an eye. It's not impossible, but it would be an incredible undertaking and would likely mean a financial bath for FSU. Plus there are a TON of events going on in Jacksonville this weekend in connection with the game ... so cancelling those would likely mean a big hit for Seminole Boosters, the Alumni Association, the Foundation, etc.

There's just a lot riding on this game being played as scheduled ... so I believe that's why they're waiting until the morning. I think they want to give the storm every opportunity to choose a path that makes it possible for the game to be played in Jacksonville on Saturday.

Having said that, if we wake up in the morning and it looks like a Category 3 hurricane is heading right toward the middle of the state ... there's a real possibility this game gets cancelled. When weighing all of the real-life implications of a hurricane making a direct hit on the state, football suddenly falls way down on the list of importance.

I will say this ... John Thrasher has a lot of political clout in the state. And from talking to him about this game several times over the last couple of years, I can assure you he is going to do everything he can to have it played ... and played in Jacksonville. However, if the governor's office says it's not happening, it's not happening.

We'll know tomorrow ... probably by mid-morning.

------------------

Gene posting here. Hopefully, you've seen the official statement below. Here's what I'm hearing off the record.

6:05 p.m. ET:

The decision-makers are leaning to moving the game up to probably noon. Seems like everyone from FSU, to Boise State and ESPN are on board with that alternative. The wrench in this is that the Florida Governor's Office has the ultimate say. There is talk that they could be extremely cautious with the situation and order that the game gets cancelled.

As of right now, there's not discussion whatsoever about moving the game to another location. If FSU-Boise State happens, it will very likely be in Jacksonville.

5:40 p.m. update

Official Statement from Florida State:

We continue to be in contact with the Governor’s Office, our partners in Jacksonville, and Boise State’s athletics department. At this time there is no change in the status of the game. We will provide an update Thursday morning.

------------

Hey folks,

From everything we’ve been told, nothing has been decided about Saturday’s game with regards to Hurricane Dorian.

It still sounds like the biggest concern is not about playing the game as scheduled, but for people who would have to travel back home throughout the state on Sunday.

As long as the game is at night Saturday, there’s the potential for fans being put at risk on their trips home Sunday. So obviously, the idea of moving the game up to earlier in the day Saturday would be a viable solution, allowing people and the teams to return home safely.

As I said, though, there hasn’t been any decision yet. We have heard that it’s going to be discussed at a meeting today (could be happening right now), but we’re not sure if there will even be a decision out of that or if they’ll just get an update and meet again later.

Anyway, sorry we don’t have anything concrete. But as is usually the case with these things, there will be a lot more rumors than facts until something actually gets decided.

We’ll let you know what else we hear.
