Over on Inside the Gators a poster, GatorSwamiG8R, wrote “Rules are rules - We aren't FSU.” They then go on page after page, post after post, on Facebook, on Twitter, blogs, texts, in offices, restaurants and bars... “It’s not fair”, “Jameis was a rapist”, “Jameis shop lifted”, “Jameis cussed”, “he should have just stolen crab legs”, “Grier made an honest mistake”, “He took flu meds”’, “how can it be sold in GNC and be banned by NCAA”, “it’s not fair”, “this suspension is unprecedented in college history”, “NCAA doesn't hold the FSU to the same standards”…

I agree, no question they are not FSU. If Jameis had been found guilty, or the accuser had had any proof, Jameis would have been gone and we, FSU fans, would have been glad to see him go. We have kicked off the team multiple high profile players,Reid, Moss, and most recently De’Andre Johnson among others. As a fan base, we didn’t like it, but we didn’t complain and make excuses. The kids were guilty and FSU acted on that guilt. We as fans are not UF.

We do not have a player who has been found guilty of violating NCAA rules and thus suspended to be able to complain about it. And if we did we would not blame the NCAA, we would blame the player. We are not UF.

We did not replace our QB suspended for taking performance enhancing drugs, with a QB who has been twice busted for using illegal drugs. (Also accused of rape) We are not UF.

We don’t complain about UF when our players get in trouble. We support our players until they are proven guilty. Once proven guilty, we might be sad for the player, we might be sad for the team, but we don’t whine and make up excuses for our players. We don’t say… hey UF did this which is much worse so... it's the NCAA's fault..., We are not UF.
