With this taking so long we have lost all the advantage we had. Did we get to "vet" people more, yes. But we all knew there were a handful of coaches FSU wanted and the two weeks headstart didn't turn out anything productive.
We have also lost whatever extra time we had for recruiting for a newer coach this year. I'm sure people will comment about how I am wrong and that is fine. My response would be that we fired our head coach multiple days before Arkansas and Ole Miss and there is a good chance they both get their guy around the same time we do, and if we don't get Franklin or Stoops this whole search was a collective failure.
