The lone big pass play from Hurts was a blown assignment with no safety help over the top. Dont forget we were without our starting safety in the first half. Hurts had just over 40 yards passing the rest of the game. 40. Yards.

With a run-of-the-mill 40-yrd per punt average, we would have flipped field position continually... especially if we went into halftime up 14-10. That changes the game.

Clearly, we must be the NCAA's worst special teams at the moment. Surely, it can get better. Dare I say, even average.

Ultimately, none of it matters if we get Francois back. We will beat every other team on our schedule if we have our QB, and I say we could even survive 6 weeks without him. A playoff berth could render this game, as painful as it was, meaningless. And how much sweeter it would be to finish the job.
