I believe the correct nomenclature is Oriental Festival
Normally I have Ronnie blocked so I had to temporarily unblock him to see his message but yes that's in essence what we're doing although we're also stopping at Deep for their new sour release before heading over to St Mary's. As to why it's because I wanted to go to the Rock Shrimp Festival and then meet up with some friends and relatives in Savannah. We'll probably spend 45 minutes to an hour at the Asian festival as I just want to grab some Filipino food and we watch the Japanese taiko drum team at the opening ceremony and maybe 30 to an hour at Deep with some friends. And we'll probably spend an hour to an hour and a half at the Rock Shrimp Festival just grabbing one of their dinners and checking out the redneck art. Then I'm meeting friends and a cousin to check out the Octoberfest and then cocktails at a rooftop bar in Savannah. Sunday we might go out to the Piratefest if I'm forced to by friends but likely we'll just meet some relatives and grab food and go shopping in Savannah rather than head out to Tybee.
Some of us just aren't lazy when it comes living life. I spent last weekend cleaning and watching football, this weekend I want to actually do something. And I can catch most of the games through my phone and frankly will probably catch the second half of our game at a bar in Savannah.
I'm in the general area of St Mary's at least once or twice a year as I like to go to the Woodbine Crawfish Festival and then either spend a day or two at Cumberland Island or hire a guide to fish the Okeefenokee. Cumberland Island is definitely one of my favorite places to visit and we'll frequently hike out to Yankees Paradise or Hickory Hill to get away from everyone. Once you're past the main tourist loop, you're basically alone on a magical pony and beach filled island.
For the weekend, early afternoon tomorrow I might swing by a little food/music/antique festival at Chinsegut HIll near Brooksville. It's a plantation house, built in the 1850s.
Then on Sunday, I'll spend a pleasant day not cursing & throwing things at the TV, since it is the Bucs bye week.

Ha, I appreciate it. I've been talking about it for years and you've always asked about it. My wife has already made the move and I am still doing some back and forth while I figure out what is going on with my job situation. Pods leave Monday and arrive in FL on the 29th. I'll probably be down and back a couple times between now and then.I feel oddly invested in your move. I'm over here all "ohmygod it's really happening!"
House is in Seminole, a mile off of Indian Shores Beach. My wife got a job at a Florida Cancer Specialists office in Largo, only 15 minutes from the house.
