There is a certainly a lot of impatience with regard to posters that appear to be always starting threads that are deemed as negative. This board is an open forum.....but....
It is frustrating when mods take the time to present objective evidence of why things are happening, and posters either never read those comments, or ignore them, and the mods do not intercede when there are posts in direct contradiction. Mods on this board may say that they don't have the time to police this activity but it is frustrating.
The biggest case this week is when Langston was initially surprised that Norvell was lukewarm to Sims becoming the lead QB candidate in the class. Norvell went in person to tell Sims. Langston took the time, did his research, and noted on more than one occasion that Sims had inconsistency issues as a passer in his junior year, and was worse in his senior year. This is why he had few offers outside of FSU. He's not a bad QB, but his skill in running is not going to compensate the issues with his passing accuracy. That apparently was Norvell's view. Some fans think they know better.
Since that time, we have seen post after post regarding the "failure" of Coach Norvell. Look, if you want to disagree with the decision because you think the running skill is good enough to get him - fine. But don't ignore why Coach Norvell did what he did. ML even followed up that Norvell could not create a "system" to work around Sims's skill set, yet that was ignored as well.
The same "drama" is happening with regard to the search for a DC. And the constant posting that FSU offered a huge contract to B Stoops and now they are going on the cheap with Norvell. There was no offer to Stoops.
I don't rely on the mods to clean up every inaccurate fact. But I find it surprising that they aren't more assertive when their own reporting is ignored.
I am not a mod, yet I personally had to remind others why the C Club was built where it was, how it was funded, why it was located where it is, why it makes money, and the possibility of expanding upon it. Yet every month there is someone spewing crap that has been debunked multiple times.
Unfortunately, this message board has become less valuable. That is unfortunate as there are some good reporting going on here. The coaching search a few weeks ago got to the point where FSU fans were fighting among themselves.
The structure of the board makes it impossible to focus on what you want to read as every time someone wants to respond to a specific point, many times someone else starts a new thread with an opposing view on the same subject. So now you have unsubstantiated negative comments seemingly unanswered on one thread because the response is the lead post in a new thread; and you have accurate facts in one thread challenged by another poster who started a different thread. The message board has become unmanageable to read cohesively.
