Who on this list should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

That's actually not a bad list. Devo, Roxy Music, Todd Rundgren, The Cure, The Zombies all sound like good candidates. Def Leppard? Not so much.

I hate the style of music, but Kraftwerk basically invented and were certainly the successful pioneers of electronica. And they've been ripped off by every hip hop, pop, techno and synth band ever since.

Honestly they are the only band I would include. None of the others are really innovators. They may be popular, but not innovative.

Devo was most definitely innovative. Not sure there was ever a band like them before or since I'd recommend checking out their pre-Whip It catalog.

Now that Bon Jovi got in I expect Def Leopard to get in. I absolutely love John Prine but I don’t think this is where he should be.

Kraftwerk predates Devo's forming by 3 years (70 to 73) and Kraftwerk was successful long before Devo (74 instead of 79/80).

Devo was influential in Mericuh when it comes to electronica but they were mimicking Kraftwerk and other European bands.

But I would agree if you had to take two, my second pick out of that list would be Devo.

Yeah, on the fence about her too.
More I think about it, she probably deserves it if you base it on her songwriting. She is responsible for quite an impressive list of hits as both a member of Fleetwood Mac and a solo artist. I say let her in.

Considering it is the ROck & Roll Hall of Fame, most on the list shouldn't even qualify. However, since they don't limit it to just Rock & Roll bands, I am thinking Devo, The Cure, RadioHead & Kraftwerk.

There really aren't any terrible names on that list, but are they truly HoF performers?

From that "Rock 'n Roll" list, I'd choose The Cure, The Zombies, Radiohead and Roxy Music.

The Hall is a freaking joke and nothing but a money grab...

If somebody wants to explain to me how Iron Maiden isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I'll wait....over 90M records sold.

Scorpions (over 100M records sold), Ozzy, Motley Crue?

Hell, the supposed queen mother of Rock and Roll Tina Turner is not in the hall.

The Cure get my vote as most deserving. They invented a whole genre rock music and were a commercially and critically successful act for 20 years. Be willing to also bet Radiohead guys grew up and are still listening to the Cure.

I love The Zombies, and they definitely deserve some credit for early keyboard use, but they only existed for like five years and released two damn albums in their prime, before regrouping fairly recently. They have three songs anyone knows. Are they really so influential off of two albums? There's about a hundred 60's bands with much greater output and music just as strong that will never sniff the rock and roll hall of fame.

I mean, I think they are excellent...but that's tough to justify.

Maybe a better case for Rod Argent individually, taking the Zombies and Argent together?

I would bet you are right about Radio Head being fans of the Cure. I also think Radio Head gets in this year but I am not sure about the Cure.

I love def Leppard, you can all kiss my arse!

Eh, let ‘em all in.

Isn’t the Rock and Roll HOF pretty much a marketing thing anyway?
Yeah, been that way, we all know Janet Jackson and LL Cool J are such big rockers! Arguments could be made for most of these, Kraftwerk, Roxy Music and Devo for innovation, Stevie Nick is already in with Fleetwood Mac.
Most deserving imo Todd Rundgren. Kinda like a poor man's David Bowie, has excelled in so many genre's, I loved his prog rock phase with Utopia.
