have people really lost interest in football just because of the kneeling/protests?
it bottles my mind why anyone cares. i never watch the pregame stuff anyway, i don't care if they stand or sit or lay down.
attempting to force people to meet another's standard for respect seems like a tough row to hoe.
Exactly. Tv never showed the anthem until there was drama over it. Everyone wants to co opt it for their own cause or opinion or prejudiced rationale. None of it matters. It's all manufactured BS. People shouldn't be so quick to buy in and get offended over something that makes no difference.have people really lost interest in football just because of the kneeling/protests?

As long as my players don't kneel before they cross the goal line, I'm good with whatever pregame theatrics happen. The press is jumping all over this BS issue. They moved on quickly from hurricane coverage. Harvey got good play, Irma decent, then Maria is just an afterthought. Instead of dealing with real issues, the journalists just want to get people upset about whether a bunch of men getting paid millions to play a game stand, kneel, or sit. What is an inappropriate way to protest the way that "journalists" cover the news in an inappropriate fashion? I think I'll start taking a knee when the evening news comes on the TV.

Regardless, it'll all be a moo point as soon as it all dies down and another controversy du jour takes its place.Really, it bottles your mind?

I wont quit FF for that reason, but I might not watch the game as much as before. I don't care about the kneeling or whatever they want to do during the anthem as long as they aren't burning or stomping on flags. My only problem is the media circus about who is and isn't kneeling. Its forcing all players/coaches/owners to show some form of protest or action to draw a line in the sand. Really getting away from the original message and purpose of the protest.
Obviously you are wrong!Regardless, it'll all be a moo point as soon as it all dies down and another controversy du jour takes its place.

You can blame Trump for that. Had he stayed out of it, it would have remained just a handful of players quietly advocating for a cause. However he decided to get involved, call them sons of bitches, demand they be fired, etc... and that of course demanded a response.
I could care less. I don't do fantasy football. It's a doggy dog world...
I've been losing interest in the NFL(and other sports) for years for a multitude of reasons, the least of which is the kneeling charade. I used to be glued to the TV and now miss games with regularity and don't blink. I never thought I would say that, but it is what it is.

I'll be RISING UP on Sunday!
Duck! What I don't get is why are people who disagree with the kneeling vilified? They have as much right to disagree with it as those choose to kneel.

I think that's part of the problem. Too much division and not enough dialogue. The ones that have decided to protest have done so legally and have every right to what they are doing, just like other people have a right to be upset by their actions. Its the same way with politics. Most get hung up on sides and think that everyone else is wrong if they have a differing opinion or party. That is how we get stuck in the mess were in currently. You shouldn't right someone off without discussing the issue with them to see where they are coming from and reach some middle ground. What I don't get is why are people who disagree with the kneeling vilified? Because they're not being willing to actually discuss the issues. Instead of discussing the issues that lead to people kneeling, they just scream about kneeling. Everyt ime people of color protest, white people tell them they're doing it wrong. White people are never going to accept any protest that actually makes them pay attention. What I don't get is why are people who disagree with the kneeling vilified? They have as much right to disagree with it as those choose to kneel.
