The reason this has become an issue is that the scholarship didn't cover the full cost of attendance as federal aid does for regular students. Why isn't the federal government stepping in to pay this extra $2 million? Even if is in the form of loans to the student athlete that would make things equal between the athletes and regular students as far as money needed to attend the university is concerned.
And by the way saying schools will now steal kids from different parts of the country now is just stupid. That doesn't happen with regular students does it? Why? Because the cost of attendance and money needed is real, kids aren't pocketing the money. Things kids need in Los Angeles cost more than they do in Auburn, Alabama
