It seems like every couple of days there are threads about Dalvin Cook's projected draft position. My question to those who post in them, is why does it matter at all? I can see when a couple of years ago it was all about Winston or Mariotta, there was a pride point to be had for FSU to have a player taken number one overall. But it was a foregone conclusion (pretty much) that those two were going to go 1 and 2.
Whether Cook goes 6, 10, 15, 28, or whatever, what's the difference to FSU? He's not going to be #1 overall, but its likely he will be a First Rounder. Do fans brag over whether a player goes high first round, versus middle or end of the round? I know the $ is different, but do people really brag about how their RB got the top end $20MM rookie contract versus the lower end $10MM one? Just curious to hear what you all have to say.
