It will be interesting to see what happens with FSU receiver room. There is talent there but how much and who will it be? FSU does not return a receiver who had over 200 yards a year ago outside of Duce Robinson. I expect Robinson to become wide out #1 in this offense. I broke down FSU receiver room along with every other team in the ACC.
1) Clemson Tigers: Clemson has the best receiver corps is the ACC. They return Antonio Williams who had 75 receptions for 904 yards and 11 touchdowns. Freshman Bryant Wesco had over 700 yards and five touchdowns. He averaged over 17 yards per reception. Freshman TJ Moore from Tampa, Florida had 45 reception for 651 yards and five touchdowns. Another Sunshine state star Olsen Patt Henry will be Clemson starting tight end.
2) Georgia Tech: The Yellow Jackets did lose Eric Singleton to Auburn. They return Malik Rutherford who had 62 receptions for 702 yards and 3 touchdowns. They also return sophomore receiver Bailey Stockton who had 17 receptions for 206 yards a season ago. The big addition for Georgia Tech was adding Eric Rivers (FIU Transfer). Rivers had close to 1200 yards a season ago and 12 touchdowns.
3) Syracuse: The Orange lost Jackson Meeks and Oronde Gadsden. That is two big losses from a year ago. They return Trebor Pena who recorded 84 receptions for 941 yards and 9 touchdowns. His had 8 receptions in games against Stanford, UNLV, North Carolina State and Cal (11 receptions). His best game came against UM (6 receptions - 128 yards-1 touchdown). Syracuse also returns sophomore Darrell Gill. This team has some talent at the wide out position.
4)Louisville Cardinals: Louisville lost Jacory Brooks to the NFL. They do return Chris Bell who may be the best receiver coming back in the ACC. He recorded 43 receptions last year and totaled 737 yards. His 17.1 yard average is impressive. Bell also had 4 touchdowns. They add Bobby Golden from Akron. He is from Miami Palmetto so Louisville adds another sunshine state prospect. He recorded 31 receptions for 446 yards and a touchdown for the Zips. In 2023 senior receiver Callin Lacy had 91 receptions for 1316 yards and 7 touchdowns. Louisville could get a major contribution out of him next season.
5) Boston College: Junior receiver Lewis Bond returns. He had over 60 catches for 689 yards. Reed Harris averaged over 28 yards per catch a year ago. He is their big play threat. Tight End Jeremiah Franklin also returns. They don't have much depth on the roster.
6) NC State: Justin Joly was NC State leading receiver last year. 43 receptions for 661 yards and 4 touchdowns. Problem is, Joly plays tight end. Noah Rogers was a freshman a year ago. He had 35 receptions. The loss of KC Concepion will be big. Dacari Collins had 24 receptions a year ago for 314 yards. They have some production but where is the play making ability coming from?
7) Cal Bears: Cal returns sophomore tight end Jack Endries. He recorded 56 receptions a year ago for 623 yards. They also bring back talented freshman receiver Nyziah Hunter. He had 40 receptions for 578 yards and 5 touchdowns. They add Jonathan Brady to the mix who have 624 yards and 4 touchdowns (2023) and 36 receptions for 386 yards in (2024).
8) FSU Seminoles: I have FSU ranked 8th right now. I feel with the additions of Duce Robinson and Squirrel White this group will be much improved. Moving Danzy to receiver along with White gives FSU two legit deep threats. Maybe I am crazy but I still feel Hykeem Williams can have a break out season. Duce has recorded back to back 300+ yard receiving seasons. I could see that number double at FSU. The talent and depth is there now these guys got to produce on the field.
9)Miami Hurricanes: Miami lost Xavier Restrepo to the NFL. They lost Jacolby George to the NFL. Isaiah Horton left for Alabama. Their top tight end left. I had the chance to watch Miami practice yesterday and they have talent. Problem is the talent is all young. CJ Daniels transfers in from LSU. He has experience. Joshua Moore is only a freshman but he stood out the most of any receiver. He is a big time talent. Malachi Toney also showed out. The most consistent receiver was Joshisa Trader. Talent is not the problem it is experience. From a talent standpoint they are top 3-4 on this list. They just don't have guys who have snaps.
10) Pitt Panthers: Raphael Williams returns after getting 37 receptions a year ago along with 426 yards and 6 touchdowns. Censerer Lee gives them another option. He had 19 receptions a year ago along with 254 yards and 3 touchdowns. Kenny Johnson returns after putting up over 500 yards and 3 touchdowns.
11) SMU: The Ponies lost their top two receivers. They do return Jordan Hudson who had over 30 catches for 422 yards and 5 touchdowns. They also return RJ Maryland who displayed some talent last year. He could be relied upon heavily this upcoming season. Romello Brinson who transferred in from Miami last year will also be counted on.
12) Duke: Que'Sean Brown had 41 receptions a year ago for 445 yards and 3 touchdowns. Transfer receiver from Oklahoma will be at Duke next year. He recorded 27 receptions for 428 yards in 2023. The big addition this off-season was Cooper Barkate from Harvard. He had over 100 catches in 2023-24. He had 11 touchdowns a year ago. This group may be rated lower than they should.
13) Stanford: The TREES have had a rough off-season. They lost sophomore receiver Elic Ayomanor to the NFL. They lost Ismael Cisse to Arkansas. They do return freshman receiver Emmett Mosley who had 48 receptions a year ago, along with 525 yards and 6 touchdowns. Tight End Sam Roush is also a pretty decent player.
14) Wake Forest: One of the players Wake has developed is Benjamin HS receiver Micah Mays. He had 16 receptions 218 yards and 2 touchdowns. Wake added Sterling Berkhalter from Cincinnati. He had a down year a season ago with only a 11 receptions after having 28 in 2022. The best addition for their team may have been sophomore receiver Carlos Hernandez from Washington State. He recorded close to 400 yards and 5 touchdowns.
15) UNC: The Tar Heels receiver room is bad. Their top receiver is Aziah Johnson (Michigan State transfer) He had a whopping 16 receptions a year ago for 276 yards. He is their leading receiver heading into spring. Sr Kobe Paysour had 21 receptions a year ago for UNC. He had zero touchdowns. Bill B likes unknown receivers, this may be his type of players.
16) UVA: The Cavaliers #1 receiver is Jahmal Edrine. He transfers in from Purdue where he recorded 23 receptions a year ago for 365 yards and 2 touchdowns. His best season came in 2022 where he recorded 39 receptions for 570 yards and 6 touchdowns. I will always bring up Florida players as Edrine came from Fort Lauderdale HS. He needs to have a season more like 22 for UVA to have much of a passing game.
17) Virginia Tech: The Hokies may have the worst roster in the ACC. Looking up their receivers is just disgusting. Their top two receivers Donovan Greene (Wake Transfer) and Cameron Seldon (Tennessee Transfer) did not have 500 yards receiving between them last year. I have no idea what this team is doing but they act like they are tanking for the first pick in next year’s NFL Draft.
