Jimbo has said he plans to use the running backs by committee approach this year. I just wonder if that committee includes Green. I ask that because I believe we will open the season with Patrick seeing the most carries followed by Rasul and Akers getting the ball. Also, depending on the types of fall camp Laborn and a White have, I suspect Jimbo will play them more. Green's only benefit is he may know the offense better, but when was the last time we have had a senior all of a sudden burst onto the scene? Especially at a skill position like running back or wideout?
With Patrick, Rasul and Akers available, plus Laborn and White coming in, I just don't see Green making a big impact. I hope I am wrong because the few times we saw Green in mop up duty last season, he looked very quick and ran hard, However, if it is viewed as a "toss up" about who will be able to make more of a contribution between Green, Akers and the young guys my bet is that we see Akers and the two young guys before seeing Green.
