Address thoughts after game ... played an outstanding team in Clemson. Good team. Want to make sure give credit.

Going home, watching film ... handful of players didn't play to our standards. How we play at FSU.

Addressed internally. We're gonna make sure we continue to build culture and make sure we have individuals who live to those standards.

Want guys who put FSU first. Good practice yesterday.

Nyqwan and Zaquandre won't play in first half Saturday after throwing punches.

"Majority of the players" competed. It was a handful that didn't.

Has met with players who "quit" individually and as a team.

Deondre Francois is "beat up." He's day to day.

Is surprised by offense struggling so much. Thought they would be very good. What he didn't anticipate how team would struggle with adversity.

Asked about changes in starting lineup ... wouldn't speak to specifics. Said will play the guys who give them a chance to win. And who compete each day.

Said he could sense during the game that players who were competing hard were getting frustrated with others.

Said he saw some players holding each other accountable in locker room after game. Some he would have liked to have seen more from earlier.

"Culture" change doesn't happen overnight.

Will assess QB situation throughout the week. If Deondre can't practice, then he won't be able to start.

Coooper and Upshur are out this week. Levonta is day to day.

Anything positive from the game? He said no.

On the roughing the kicker, they weren't trying to go for a block. Asante just tried to do too much.

On leaders -- Marvin is everything we look for. He's the definition of what we want.

On NC State's Finley -- guys need to win some one-on-one battles up front to get pressure on him since he gets rid of the ball quickly.

Examples of changes in culture yet? Guys are so much better in classroom. Better in community. Biggest hurdle left to overcome is handling adversity.

On the possibility of playing freshmen these last four games with the new redshirt rule ... not gonna play guys just to play them. Still trying to win games.

As whether he's trying to be tougher now or put arm around guys ... said there are times for both. But that's not the most important thing. It's holding each other to a standard.

Closes with a quote ... "Adversity introduces a man to himself."
