Florida State All-Americans Lottie Woad and Mirabel Ting will play in the Patsy Hankins Trophy Championship Jan. 8-10, 2025 at the Al Hamra Golf Club in the United Arab Emirates. Woad, the No. 1 ranked amateur female in the world, will play for the European team while Ting, the No. 4 ranked Amateur female in the world, will play for the Asia Pacific team.

With Woad and Ting ranked in the top four female golfers in the world by the World Amateur Golf Ranking, Florida State is the only collegiate team in the nation with multiple golfers ranked among the world’s top 4 golfers.

The Patsy Hankins Trophy is a women's amateur match play competition which takes place every two years between teams of 12 players representing Europe and Asia. The event is played over three days. The first two days comprise five foursomes matches each morning and five four-ball matches each afternoon. On the final day, all twelve team players compete in singles match play.

Woad, who has held the world’s No. 1 ranking since July 31, 2024, is the highest ranked played named to the European team. She is the all-time leader with the lowest stroke average (70.56) in school history and has won four individual championships as a Seminole. Woad is the defending champion of the prestigious Augusta National Women’s Amateur – a championship she won at Augusta National in April of 2024.

“I'm looking forward to representing Europe in the Patsy championship again,” said Woad. “It should be a fun week and hopefully we can defend the trophy. Mirabel is playing for Asia, so we may have an inter FSU game, which would be fun. Plus three of my Curtis Cup team mates are also playing for Europe.”

Woad helped leads Europe to the championship of the Patsy Hankins Trophy competition during the Summer of 2023. Woad earned 2.5 points as Team Europe won the team competition by a 19-13 score during her first appearance.

Ting, who moved up to the No. 4 position in the WAGR on December 18, 2024, is the highest-ranked player named to represent the Asis -Pacific tea. She has earned four individual championships as a Seminole including at the fall 2024 Folds of Hoor Collegiate and the fall 2024 Schooner Classic and placed 12th on her LPGA Tour debut in the Maybank Championship in her home county in November of 2024.

“The opportunity to play for my country means a lot to me,” said Ting. “I’m super excited to compete against the European team; as our own Lottie is playing for Team Europe. I’m super excited to play in the event. I’m also excited to be back in the spring to compete for Florida State again; It’s going to a be a year to remember.”

Ting is making her first appearance in the Patsy Hankins Trophy competition.

Patsy Hankins (1945-2015), was a highly respected golf administrator from New Zealand and was one of the first women members of the R&A. The Patsy Hankins Trophy was first played in 2016.

Florida State opens it spring semester at the IJGA Guadalajara Invitational at the Guadalajara (Mexico) Country Club (Jan. 31-Feb. 1, 2025) and plays host to the Florida State Match Up at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club (March 21-23, 2025).
