That's 48 hours of rest which is great for the team as you need to win a minimum of three games in four days to win the title and might have to play as many as five games in five days.

As for the pitching... you can't expect Kat to pitch that many games and have her best stuff against what is likely to be Oklahoma in a best of three. At some point another pitcher has to win at least one game.
Since FSU needs to win only one of two games on Monday to reach the finals, it seems a good time to pitch someone else in the Monday 7 pm game in an effort to have the best version of Kat for Oklahoma on Wednesday. If someone else could win that game, Kat would have four days and might could pitch Wednesday and Friday.
If you lose the first game Monday, you'd likely have to throw Kat in the second game but I think the only way to win this whole thing is to have Kat fresh on Wednesday.
Somebody else needs to win a game other than Kat... and Monday at 7, in a best of two, seems like the right time to me to trust in your staff.
What say you?

I think it depends on Monday's early game results. If OK has to play 2 then I could see us going with the committee approach and see how that works. Use KAT only as necessary. I do tend to believe you go with your best options at this point- old axiom -you don't come home with bullets in the gun.

First, thanks for this board and to @Bob Ferrante and @CurtWeiler for their contributions during all the games. It is very much appreciated.
Second, I was surprised by how quickly Mac was pulled last night. I thought she would at least go through the lineup once or until she was in real trouble before being relieved. That would have accomplished both giving her much needed experience and save some innings for Kat.
Coach Alameda is one of the best in the game with pitching staffs. I will stick with "In Lonni I trust".

Perhaps Coacha was concerned with Reid's mindset after she was called for an illgal pitch.

That's all part of the maturation process. Getting yanked when things are a little bit tough teaches lessons too. Not necessarily a good one.
Has she been called for an illegal pitch any other time this year? Seems a bit sus.

Kat mentioned in the postgame press conference that it was always the plan for Makenna to start and her to finish. I would imagine FSU wanted Reid to go a little longer but she wasn’t at her sharpest.

Lonni is normally all for throwing her players in the deep end but the fact that she didn’t entirely do that and defaulted back to Kat speaks to how important that game was. With a loss, FSU would have had to beat Stanford and then OU twice in a row to make the championship series.

Also, Washington had a great offensive approach last night but it seems the FSU loss may have taken the wind out of their sails. Just one hit in a 1-0 loss to Stanford today.

Is Canady going to be able to come back to pitch again tomorrow night against OU?? As great as they are, she may be their match.

Stanford took Oklahoma to extras but fell 4-2. OU's winning streak is up to 51 games and the Sooners are through to the Championship Series.

FSU will look to join the Sooners tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
