Football Recruiting #FlipWatch: FSU 2025 RB commit Byron Louis is expected to announce he will flip his commitment to Florida on Tuesday

I just spoke with a source familiar with Florida's pursuit of FSU 2025 RB commit Byron Louis. According to my source, Louis is expected to announce on Tuesday that he will flip his commitment from FSU to Florida. He took an unofficial visit to Florida two weeks ago and took an official visit there this past weekend.

If this comes to fruition, Louis would be the third FSU commit to flip Florida's way in less than two weeks. A little less than two weeks ago QB Tramell Jones flipped to Florida. Less than a week after Jones flipped to Florida, FSU OL commit Daniel Pierre Louis flipped to the Gators.

***Dumping Ground For All Things Interesting and Silly On The Interwebs***

Interesting and very likely spot on.
I do think there is a difference between older couples versus younger marrieds.
I’ve read that there’s been an enormous uptick in “silver divorce” in the last few years and from what I hear and see among my age group it seems to be true.
Boomers got married and had a family, were very busy parenting and having careers and as empty nesters are home alone for the first time in decades sharing a life and a home with a person who is no longer the person they married thirty five years ago. I think that is an enormous adjustment and couples need to be cognizant of that and willing to talk frankly to the person they’ve shared their life with.

So true. I tell my wife all the time she needs to lose 30 pounds.

It depends on how we define "successful," but I think we can say that roughly half of marriages are generally successful.

Thanks. I figured if 40% of marriages end in divorce, maybe half the remaining are successful meaning mostly happy for life.

I'd estimate 30% of marriages are successful using that definition.

Khori Louis, Taylor Head drafted by Atlanta in Pro Volleyball Federation

FSU sports information:

Florida State volleyball seniors Khori Louis and Taylor Head will continue to be teammates at the professional level as both were drafted by the Atlanta Vibe in the Pro Volleyball Federation Draft on Monday afternoon. Louis was picked sixth overall and was the first middle blocker off the board and the second ACC player off the board. Head was selected with the fifth pick in the third round and the 21st pick overall.

Louis has emerged as one of the nation's top middle blockers the past two seasons for the Seminoles. The Tallahassee native was a First Team All-ACC performer in 2023 and ranked third in the entire country with a .432 hitting percentage and has picked up right where she left off in 2024. So far, Louis is second on the team with 299 kills and a .417 hitting percentage which is second in the ACC and 13th in the entire country. Louis's 299 kills are the most she has ever had in a season. Louis recorded her 1,000th career kill on November 8 against Wake Forest to become the second middle blocker and the eighth overall player to record 1,000 career kills in the rally scoring era. Louis also leads the team with 120 blocks and 1.14 blocks per set.

Head has been a great addition to the FSU volleyball team in her one year with the Seminoles after four seasons at Arkansas. A two-time AVCA All-American, Head currently leads the team with 301 digs while adding 275 kills which ranks third on the team. Head has recorded 10 double doubles this season, eight which have come during ACC play. Head has recorded 11 double digit kill matches in her last 14 matches.

The Atlanta Vibe's season begins on January 10 against the Omaha Supernovas in Omaha, Neb. The Vibe play its home matches in Gas South Arena in Atlanta. The PVF announced on Nov. 20 a multi-year extension with CBS Sports where 20 matches will be televised on CBS Sports including one match on the CBS Television Network. PVF is in its second year of existence and consists of eight teams.

Football Norvell expects Roydell Williams to be able to play vs. Florida

Roydell Williams has played in three games before suffering an injury. He'd be able to come back on Saturday vs. Florida. Norvell was asked his thoughts on Williams' recovery and getting back to be in position to play:

"He's done a good job of being able to push throughout the course of the last few weeks. We'll see exactly how many plays he's going to be able to get for us there come Saturday, but full expectation is for him to play. ... You saw the burst (in practice), you saw the balance, the things that you want to see from a back coming off of an injury. Excited to see him back in the lineup."

Golf Luke Clanton, Daniel Berger tie for second at RSM Classic

FSU sports information:

Florida State junior Luke Clanton and former Seminole Daniel Berger tied for second place at the RSM Classic at the Sea Island Golf Club on Sunday.

Sitting in seventh place to start the day at 11-under par, Clanton made a charge with back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11 to climb within one stroke of the leader. After a birdie on 16, Clanton jumped to a share of the lead at 16-under par.

After a bogey on the 18th, Clanton was in the clubhouse in a four-way tie for the lead, and Berger joined just after shooting 66, finishing at 15-under. With three other players hopeful for a playoff including Berger and Clanton, Maverick McNealy made a putt for birdie, claiming the win.

Clanton opened the tournament shooting 68 made and jumped into the top five in the second round after scoring 66. He posted a 68 in round three, and well within the leaders. His performance was his fourth top 10 PGA TOUR finish in 2024.

Berger made the cut after rounds of 71 and 66. On Saturday, Berger shot 63, jumping up all the way to third place at 12-under, securing a spot in the final group.

By placing second, Berger moved inside the top 125 to keep a full PGA TOUR card for 2025.

Clanton is one of 16 players invited to practice for the 2025 Walker Cup Match. The three days of practice will be held at the McArthur Golf Club, Seminole Golf Club and The Bear’s Club in Jupiter, Florida, from Dec. 14-16.

Fiske Proving doubters wrong

I said last year he was the best DL we had in years. Too bad we didn’t have him longer. Very happy that Verse and Fiske are doing so well. We should look at the FCS talent to see if they want to jump to a Power 5 level. Those players probably are not looking as NIL as primary reason to make the jump.
No Question - FSU does need to look at the lower levels for players. You also have to be careful because there are not many Verse/Fiske type players. If not for Pat's brother scouting Syracuse would FSU have found out about Verse.
