Soccer FSU finishes off regular season with 1-0 win at Miami

FSU sports information:

The No. 6 Florida State soccer team (12-2-2, 7-2-1 ACC) concluded the regular season with a 1-0 victory over in-state rival Miami (5-8-4, 1-6-3 ACC) on Thursday night. The Seminoles qualified for the 2024 ACC Women’s Soccer Tournament, FSU has appeared in all 30 tournaments since the program’s inception.

The Seminoles controlled the early run of play and were able to create some dangerous chances. Marianyela Jiménez received the ball and dashed into the box, before making a deft move to send the Miami defender sliding and fired a low driven shot to force a save from the Miami goalkeeper.

As the first half drew to a close, FSU made seven substitution changes. Minutes later, Ashlyn Puerta made a quick throw-in to Olivia Lebdaoui who flicked the ball to Camille Ashe, Ashe followed suit and flicked the ball to Wrianna Hudson. Hudson controlled the ball off her chest, fired her half-volley shot low and away, and put the Seminoles up just before the break. All four players linked in the build-up of the goal had come off the bench.

Florida State nearly doubled its advantage off Solai Washington’s tight near post shot that was only met by the Hurricanes’ keeper’s outstretched leg. FSU finished through the remainder of the second half and clinched its spot in the ACC Tournament.

The Seminoles now hold a five-game winning streak over Miami and end the regular season with four straight victories. Hudson has recorded a point in four straight games and scored four goals in the last four appearances.

Florida State will host an ACC First Round game against either North Carolina or Notre Dame on Sunday night. The complete bracket will be announced by the ACC on Friday.

Real Estate Market

Is the market cooling off in your area? Still climbing a bit or are prices stabilizing?
My city (Jax) is not really declining price wise but the market is definitely a bit slower.
I have noticed that older homes are more often undergoing updating and renovations though.
Hey goldmom! I got a bit tired over on the Football chat line. I needed a break so I thought I might check out another site, and here you are.

To answer your question, the prices in Jersey are always high and being a blue State, any way Trenton can separate us from our money, they will do it. Living in South Jersey is not quite as bad. Bought my house at a 15 year mortgage at 2.5%.

Other than hurricane Sandy which hit us some 10 years ago, hurricanes are really not our biggest issue, - it is Trenton. 🙄 Will continue to pray for all of you in Florida from the devastation so many of you have faced. Still love Florida, but initially being raised in NJ, so I guess, that is home for me. 😎

Where did you live when you were attending FSU (if you did, in fact, attend FSU)

Lived in Crystal River. I went to a military university, but even though my daughter was accepted at UF, she chose FSU. Now she is a Nurse Practitioner having worked at UPenn ICU and later as a NP for a consortium of Surgeons in North Carolina. She Married a West Point graduate who was raised in Tallahassee. A diehard Noles fan. After a numerous deployments, he is retired and is a surgeon in north Jersey. AND happily married! As for me, that means three great grandchildren.
