FSU volleyball defeats NC State

The No. 24 Florida State volleyball team (18-6, 10-4) demonstrated determination and skill in a hard-fought four-set victory (26-24, 25-16, 19-25, 25-23) over the NC State Wolfpack (12-10, 7-7) at home on Sunday afternoon. This win marks FSU's 10th conference victory of the season and improved to 38-3 over NC State since 2000.

The opening set was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams exchanging points early on. Florida State gained an early advantage with a 5-1 run to take a 10-6 lead, but the Wolfpack quickly closed the gap, rallying to tie the score at 16. The Seminoles answered with a 3-0 run, putting them ahead 19-16, but NC State fought back, tying the score again at 21. The teams went back and forth until Khori Louis and Taylor Head combined for the block to give the Noles a 26-24 win in the first set. .

Riding the momentum from their set-one win, the Seminoles came out strong in the second set, jumping to an early 12-6 lead. FSU continued to dominate and used a balanced and efficient offensive attack to run away with the set 25-16.

NC State found their rhythm in the third set, but the Seminoles continued to put up a strong battle. The set remained close, with neither team leading by more than three points until the Wolfpack went on a decisive 7-1 run, ultimately taking the set 25-19.

The back-and-forth pattern continued in the fourth set with both teams exchanging points in the early plays. The lead constantly shifted, with neither team able to pull away. With the set tied at 23, Iane Henke put down a kill to give the Noles match point then combined with Kelsey Perry for the block to end the match.

Audrey Koenig continued to shine with 12 kills and 10 digs to extend her double digit kill streak to 21 matches. Head was very impressive with 12 kills and 22 digs to earn her sixth double double in her last 10 matches. Emery Dupes and Kyleene Filimaua each recorded 10 digs for the Noles as well

The Noles will now head to Pittsburgh to take on the No. 1 Pitt Panthers on Friday, November 15 at 7 p.m. on ACCNX.
