FSU volleyball cruises to three-set win over Syracuse

FSU sports information:

There was little drama on Sunday afternoon as the No. 19 Florida State volleyball team (14-4, 6-2) cruised to a sweep (25-15, 25-22, 25-14) over Syracuse (12-8, 0-8) on Sunday afternoon at the Women's Building in Syracuse, N.Y.

The Noles controlled the first set from start to finish as they never surrendered the lead as they ran away with the set by a score of 25-15. The Noles hit .379 while holding Syracuse to a .071 hitting percentage.

The second set was much closer as they team traded runs in the early part of the set, but FSU ultimately led 15-11 at the halfway point. The Orange slowly chipped away at the Seminoles' lead and eventually took a 21-20 lead. Khori Louis responded with a kill and a block to give the Noles the lead, and FSU used a 3-0 run to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

The Orange looked to have some momentum in the third set as they jumped out to a 4-1 lead, but FSU used an 8-1 run to take the momentum back. The Noles never let the Orange come within three points as they rolled to a 25-14 match-clinching victory.

Louis returned to her efficient ways as she had a game-high 14 kills on 23 attempts while also adding four blocks. Audrey Koenig reached double digit kills for the 15th consecutive match while also leading the team with 11 digs.

The Noles will continue play next Friday night at North Carolina at 7 p.m. on ACCNX.

Where did you live when you were attending FSU (if you did, in fact, attend FSU)

The first one in the early 70’s happened when my younger brother was an active. Some drunk KA’s
(But I repeat myself) set it on fire in 1983. BIG mistake. Jim Smith was an ATO slum and was the Attorney General of Florida at the time. Since most of those houses were University owned at the time he was able to go after the KA Chapter.
😉

The 1983 fire was the one while I was there as an active brother. Jim's younger brother, as well as a nephew, were ATOs with me at the time.
The fire happened at the end of summer session; three KAs were partying after their last final, came over to our house late at night, and broke into the kitchen (probably just walked in the always-unlocked door). Cooked some food, then had a food fight, and when leaving threw a pack of firecrackers into the open window of the living room. They caught some curtains on fire and half the house burned down.
FSU PD did some excellent detective work, following the trail of ketchup and mustard that they were squirting at each other back across the street, into the KA house, and down the hall to the room where a couple of them were passed out.
I knew two of them, always felt bad for them. Dumb, drunken goofing off altered the course of their lives. Two were entering their senior years, all got kicked out of FSU.
