Track and Field Hurdler Alexandra Webster wins ACC weekly honor

FSU sports information:

Florida State women’s track and field student-athlete Alexandra Webster was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Performer of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.

Webster turned in the second-fastest time in program history in the 100-meter hurdles, establishing a career best of 12.77 at the Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville, Fla. Webster sits behind the record that was set in 2019 by Cortney Jones at 12.72. Her time is currently the fastest in the ACC and third nationally.

"Alexa was consistent during the indoor season and I knew this breakthrough performance was coming,” associate head coach Matt Kane said. “I’m glad she was able to rise to the occasion against top level competition, that bodes well for as we get focused on the post season.”
