Daughter is going to Prom with a friend of hers and since he goes to a different school than her she is also going to his prom. Of course she needs two dresses; how uncivilized of me to think you could wear the same dress to each prom. Wife " You haven't asked how much the dresses cost" Me "don't want to know, all I know is there is a gun prom coming up and I need to buy a new gun for it"

Prom dresses are very high. funny thing is the wear them to take pictures, do the prom walk and then change to regular clothes shortly after for parties. Crazy expensive, dress, shoes, hair, makeup, flowers, and you have to rent a limo.

I'm glad I have two boys. There are times I miss some of the relationships I see with some of my friends and their daughters that I'll never experience, but in the end they get to pay for weddings in a time when they're supposed to mimic royalty and proms are the same. I'll pass. I'll take the 100 dollar tux and move on.

In the end, my boys are growing up to be nerds like their father unfortunately for them. I'll probably even get to miss on Prom tux, lol.

Prom is almost like a wedding. Dad must not utter the following:

"How much is this costing me?"

Oh yes, limo required, you have to arrive in style. This is the Locker Room!

I assumed the intended to quote the "rent" part. Like we don't all own a few that we keep in the areas to which we travel.

Guy she is going with is a good kid and a limo is for sure although he is talking about a helicopter. He has a trust fund, so who knows. Wife and MIL are not in favor of the helo since my brother in law died in a helo crash and the one they would rent is basically a bubble with a rotor on it. Makes me think though they don't seem mind all the helos I am in. Hmmo_O

How about the drama of just asking someone to prom these days? Prom-posals. They have become more elaborate than the actual prom.

Oh my gosh yes. We had one kid who's dad does something in entertainment have some big name actor I think Will Smith be a part of his prom-posal. My daughters friend did a take on the Sound of Music since they just had their Musical Theater production last weekend.

I've seen this on facebook a bunch. First few times I was like, What is that? Glad I don't use facebook much anymore to see it.

Not much drops faster than a dress on prom night.

My daughters senior prom is the same weekend as FSU's spring game this April...guess where I won't be?

That is what I told my daughter I would be doing while doing my best Gary Busey impersonation when her boyfriend picks her up in a couple of weeks for the prom.

Shotgun + Busey = home early.

Well, musical theater production together might explain him being a “friend”; not that there’s anything wrong with that.

So many teen girls wave goodbye to their virginity in prom night, they may as well have on a memorable dress since the sex itself will be forgettable.
