Theres two here now at 9 pm on Wed. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen them in stores. I’ve already got one for me, one for my facility and one for my sister so I don’t need any others at the moment.

Are they still hard to find down there? They’re a regularly stocked item at virtually every Atlanta area Target.

Was at Best Buy last week and there was a big display with probably 15 of them.

They’re still selling above market value on eBay and I haven’t seen them since I bought mine six months or so ago. I’m not going to bother going through the hassle, but I’m sure some desperate people will buy them and toss them up on eBay for quick $50+ profit per unit. Plus it’s going to be a super hot Christmas item for people who don’t already have them.

Maybe I should go buy a couple and sell them.

Huh, maybe it was the boy's birthday in April then. All I know is that it's been in the house a long time and we got lucky when we bought it.

You put your kid's birthday presents beneath a tree? Weird.

That would involve me walking in to a Wal-Mart. Short of a zombie apocalypse, that ain't happening.

Got one for the my Son’s birthday in May and they were very hard to find. Impressive platform based on size and games.

I definitely enjoy it more than the other two consoles. It may have less computing power, but the games and ability to work as a portable makes it a winner in my book.

Until this thread I'd never heard of a Nintendo Switch

Why is it worth $300?

Why is it worth $300?

It’s a video game console almost as powerful as the PS4 and XBone when plugged into the tv with the two highest rated games that have come out this year (Zelda Breath of the Wild and Mario’s Odyssey) which both happen to be ranked in the top five highest rated games of all time. But it’s more than just a sad play it by yourself or with one other person console like the PS4 and XBone, it’s a fantastic party system. Like the Wii but even better, as there are a large number of really great party games where 4-16+ players can participate (All four Jackbox games, Bomberman, MarioKart, Snipperclips, Use You Words, Just Dance, Overcooked, Party Golf, Fast RMX etc...), some you need extra Joycons for and some you can just play on your phones. And if that wasn’t enough, the Switch is a great portable system you can play on the go by itself.

Right now if you just want to play FPS and MMORPG the PS4 and XBone both are better (although Splatoon 2 is an excellent FPS for the Switch and Elder Scrolls skyrim will be out shortly for the Switch as well), but the Switch is better even in year one for party games, rpgs and exploration games.

In my book you really don’t need both a PS4 and an XBone as there’s not enough exclusives to make owning one of those worthwhile (more on PS4 than XBone though), but I do think a good “gamer” should want the Switch to go with either the PS4 or XBone as it’s got a huge list of ultra high quality exclusives like Mario Odyssey (the large Exploration/platformer), Mario versus Rabbids (a great X-Comesque strategy game in a kiddie candy coated veneer), Zelda, Xenoblade, Arms, Splatoon, MarioKart, Snipperclips etc... Heck, Zelda alone is worth the purchase.
