staying at The Glenn at the end of the week through Friday. Any decent restaurants around there. Also looking at just using MARTa from airport to avoid driving in Atlanta. Pretty decent train ride?

Seafood or sushi. There is a chance I'll be done on Friday several hours before my flight, maybe a gastropub to hang Friday afternoon

I stayed a few blocks from the Glenn last week because I had a meeting a the Georgia World Congress. Be advised that it's kinda dead and sketchy at night. If I were you, I would consider staying in Midtown.

Most places are a quick uber ride away, downtown is still a bit empty after 5pm. Hopefully that will be changing soon with the Phillips Arena renovation, and Amazon HQ2 potential projects.

Old 4th Ward is the current center of the dining world in Atlanta.

If you are a single, a quick ride on the streetcar will take you most of the way to Staplehouse, get there early to get a spot at the bar. Otherwise, good luck getting reservations. We went a few times when it first opened and now it gets booked up within hours. Probably the best restaurant in Atlanta right now.

If you can't get a spot there, a few blocks away is BoccaLupo, we end up there every few months, a new place a Mano is a few blocks north from Edgewood, we will be headed there this weekend. You have Miso Izakaya, Rathbun's Steak and at Krog Street Market, you have Bar Mercado and Ticonderoga Club, and a few other decent choices. A few others a few minutes further north in Inman Quarter like Beetlecat and MF Sushi.

For a different experience, Molly B's in MBS is open for lunch daily. The food is decent, but it's cool eating lunch in a huge empty stadium.

For a pub to hang out in that is close by, I would head to The Porter or Wrecking Bar Brewpub, both are in Little 5 neighborhood. Park Bar is probably your best walkable bar. Or head to Midtown and check out Proof and Provision in the basement of the Georgian Terrace. Bon Iver is playing at the Fox on Thursday night, we'll be at P&P after the show.

For seafood or sushi, I would do MF Sushi or Beetlcat in Inman quarter, The Optimist in West Midtown, or Bon Ton in Midtown.

Thanks. The MF Sushi in Houston was very good and then he had to close down suddenly. I'll check those places out. For some reason, I thought the law firm that was hosting these depos was in midtown, but they are all the way up in Buckhead....dammit, why is every street in Atlanta named Peachtree

The Glenn's a nice hotel. I've stayed there 5-6 times for work. Sometimes you can pick it up for $99/night. I dig the rooftop wine happy hour they have.

But yeah...sadly, nothing worth eating nearby.

Yep, same brothers opened both. They closed in Atlanta, opened in Houston, and then came back to Atlanta.

If you are in Buckhead, and want Sushi, Umi is excellent and on par if not a tad better than MF Sushi.

I, too, would stay in Midtown as that has a little more walk-ability, has the park, and is more alive after dark.

Yeah, I'm past the window for being able to cancel. I'll see if I can't do the change the dates thing on-line and then cancel without penalty. I might have to go over to Krog...I had an environmental case arising from that development. Like to see how it turned out.

My office is across the street from Georgian Terrace. We did a happy hour there several months ago and I bailed early. Not long after I left, Anne Heche sat down nearby (she was in town filming a movie) and my crew wound up hanging out with her all night. They somehow made off with her hat.

I moved to Buckhead - just so I can be a little closer from the deposition to my hotel office. Is the Midtown stop for the Gold Line near the park - near as in walking/jogging distance. And does Atlanta have bike rental stations around the city.

Yes - It's a few blocks to Piedmont Park.

You staying in Buckhead now? I'd stay in Midtown (Loews) and take the train to Buckhead, as long as their office is within walking distance to the station.

But yeah: http://relaybikeshare.com/

Take a ride down the Beltline (entrance by 10th & Monroe) to Krog Street, hope the weather is going to cooperate. Certainly going to be nice on Friday for a little something to do during the day.

MARTA to Doraville station and Uber to Shoya Izakawa for sushi. I think it’s the best in Atlanta.
