Ballistic Missile Incoming to Hawaii (false alarm)

I'm genuinely puzzled as to why you can't see how this was so distressing for people in Hawaii.
Again not saying it wasn't distressing; my issue is that millions will be spent on investigating this, rather than millions on fixing how/why it happened. Well we still will spend millions on fixing it, just not till we spend millions on investigating.

I'd love to see the disaster options in that drop down menu. You think Sharknado is on the list?

On the subject of grim lists, I remember filling in the drop down table for one of Florida’s child abuse data systems. What stuck with me wasn’t that the list was over 100 specific items in detail, but that these things occurred frequently enough they were earning their own line item...

And on the subject of bad UI:

Make sure you click the one that says ‘DRILL’ next test...

Sure, the person clicked the wrong line in the dropdown list but it shouldn't have been that easy. I can't delete an email with a confirmation popup, but this system allows a ballistic missile alert to an entire state.

Exactly!

No "Are you sure you want to send a statewide warning message"
click yes or no

"Are you DOUBLE sure you want to send a statewide missile warning message?"
click yes or no
