Best place to eat lunch @ DFW airport? (By Noon Central Time on 4/25)

I had no idea country fried steak was any kind of Mex. While I did live in Dallas for 3 years I was only under the impression that TexMex was a mixture of the two and never mistaken for authentic Mexican food. And yes there are plenty of authentic Mexican food in Dallas.

Country fried steak is Tex not Mex but it’s frequently found on Dallas “TEXmex” restaurant menus.

I've eaten at the original Reata at Sundance Square in Fort Worth, but I'd bet the two aren't the same.

I've eaten at the original Reata many times and I agree that this probably isn't the same.

Not sure what's in DFW anymore but Pappadeaux and Pappasitos are good choices

I used TEXmex which is grilled steaks, country fried steaks and white people bland tacos, burritos etc... and texMEX which is white people tacos, burritos etc with slightly more spices. Neither usually have authentic Mexican dishes. I’m sure there’s some actual authentic Mexican places in Dallas but you’re not getting that in an airport. You’re getting Raeta’s TEXmex or Laredo’s texMEX.
By "authentic", he means using parts of animals that most first-world people avoid.

I went to Grindhouse Burgers in Atlanta airport a couple months ago on a recommendation and it sucked.

I prefer big chains in airports. You know what you're going to get. Give me a Chick-Fil-A or Chili's and then Starbucks and a place to sit and free wifi I'm perfectly happy.

Just make sure you order something, or you might wind up as a subject in one of our law enforcement threads.

Yep, I try to limit my sin there to around once a month. Sadly, I've been underwhelmed by the one that opened up here in Cville.
