Switching gears a little from all the doom and gloom. Teams that win and excel, without exception, have stellar QBs. The same can be said for teams that pull upsets (in most cases not named GT).

So, thinking back to almost all FSU 'bad losses' over the years....I can remember some really good QBs beating FSU. Brett Farvre comes to mind. So, here is 2012 (after post-Bowden rebuilding) - thru 2016 (pre-cratering) as a small sample set. Games we were favored and counted as upsets/bad losses so this does not include rivals Miami, Clemson and uf. All losses were to NFL players at QB (except GT).

FWIW

2012 – 1 pt road loss to NC State (4-2, 1-1) – QB Mike Glennon NFL Giants
I recall a lot of ACC ref total BS penalties on their final drive including 3 THREE 4th down conversions

2014 – Blowout loss to Oregon (13-1) Playoffs – QB Marcus Mariota NFL Raiders

2015
– Inexplicable road loss to GT on freak blocked FG

2015 – Loss to #18 Houston (13-1) – QB Greg Ward NFL Eagles (WR)

Note: QB Maquire played injured in game

2016 – Blowout road loss to #10 Louisville (3-0, 2-0) – QB Lamar Jackson NFL Ravens

Note: Petrino/staff stated they prepared all off season for this game

2016 – Home loss to UNC (4-1, 2-0) on walk-off, miracle 54 yd FG – QB Mitchell Trubisky NFL Bills

All this to say, at minimum, we need future NFL QBs on the roster and we do not have them or at least it's not apparent.
