The way the different "power" football schools are concentrated in general areas (Southeast, West), trying to fit them all in to the current conferences is never going to work as well as it could.

It's impossible to do this in an easy, perfect fashion, but here is my idea for realignment.

SEC (Southeastern Conference)
1. Miami
2. FSU
3. Florida
4. Georgia
5. Georgia Tech
6. Tennessee
7. Ole Miss
8. Mississippi St.
9. Clemson
10. South Carolina
11. West Virginia
12. LSU
13. Alabama
14. Auburn
15. Duke
16. Arkansas

NEC (Northeastern Conference)
1. Kentucky
2. Louisville
3. North Carolina
4. Virginia
5. Virginia Tech
6. Ohio State
7. Cincinnati
8. Pitt
9. Penn St.
10. Rutgers
11. UConn
12. Boston College
13. Syracuse
14. ND
15. Maryland
16. NC State

MWC (Midwestern Conference)
1. Michigan
2. Michigan St.
3. Wisconsin
4. Iowa
5. Illinois
6. Minnesota
7. Kansas
8. Kansas State
9. Missouri
10. Oklahoma
11. Oklahoma State
12. Texas Tech
13. Texas
14. Baylor
15. TCU
16. Nebraska

WPC (Western Pacific Conference)
1. Washington
2. Washington St.
3. Oregon St.
4. Oregon
5. Utah
6. BYU
7. Cal
8. UCLA
9. USC
10. Arizona
11. Arizona St.
12. Fresno St.
13. Stanford
14. Colorado
15. Boise St.
16. UNLV
