What would you think of a base defense consisting of:
DE/DT Christmas
NT NLS
DE/DT Nnadi
OLB/DE Sweat
MLB Smith
OLB/DE Featherston
CB Ramsey
SS/OLB James
FS Brutus
SS/OLB Andrews
CB White
Play mostly press man with Brutus as a true free safety. Blitz a lot with James and/or Andrews. Sweat and Featherston are athletic enough to drop into coverage at times and can rush from the edge. Ramsey would lock down the boundary and Brutus could shade over White.
Obvious passing downs you swap NLS out for another DB (maybe McFadden?).
I know it's very simple. I have no real coaching experience. We have the athletes to play an aggressive style of defense and when we bring pressure we create turnovers. Maybe we have other players that would fit my general idea better than what I suggested, I'm just asking if this is even realistic. I think this type of lineup is versatile and can defend the run and pass.
