Does anyone personally know:

I think with the political aspect of it and with China not being forthcoming from the beginning, we have been told so many things we really don't know what to believe. I had really cut out any "unnecessary" trips to any place but I have since started staying at home unless absolutely a must to go get something. I am 62 and still in good health but not wanting any chances with exposure. I think in my situation that is the absolute smartest thing to do. It is going to be a long month for sure.

Probably at one of the parks, either Glenn island, Hudson park, etc. Lots of good whore and boat fishing!
There are people on the streets, but in much smaller numbers. The local business are really taking a beating. The Catholic archdiocese cancelled all masses this past weekend. It's almost surreal.
Please tell me more about this fishing. Sounds interesting.

Anyone who has contacted Covid-19. Sounds like it is gaining a foothold...... All please take care of yourself and families.
Yes. My niece, her husband and both of their kids. My nephew-in-law died on Easter Sunday, less than 10 days after contracting the disease. My niece and their daughter (an RN who took care of her mother and brother) were both very ill. The three of them have recovered but still weak and little energy.

There were 900k cases of the flu and 80k deaths during the 2017-2018 season, I couldn't believe reading that. For whatever reason, I don't remember all that much coverage, maybe I'm wrong.
That was 80k deaths during a SEASON. This has been 100k deaths in a matter of MONTHS.

Not comparing apples to oranges because the ticker is still moving on this virus long after it stops for the regular flu season. Additionally, experts such as Dr. Birx estimate the total number of deaths may be inflated 25% based on a number of factors.

Meanwhile in FL where cases have been skyrocketing for 12 days now we had a total of 12 deaths today. But surely our healthcare system just be on the verge of collapsing by now, right? I’ve never been anti media but it’s truly shameful how sensational and fear mongering nearly every news outlet is.

There's a reason for that, one which should be rather evident at this point.

Lots of people are asymptomatic or mild symptoms had a co-worker get sick with the flu and I've got to get tested twice before I'm allowed back to work and Leon county just issued a mandatory mask order..... But hospitalization has been down very low here I think under 6 people in both hospitals as of right now.

The virus has made it's way to rural Georgia and South Carolina. I personally know over 20 people that have tested positive over the last 2 weeks. No hospital stays, or severe symptoms. I know of around 100 people in the area that have been diagnosed. One overweight poor health fella, has had the worst time of it. He still hasn't had to go to the hospital though.
Is it weaker now, or is was it never as deadly as originally thought?
It seems very probable that the spread is much more widespread, and we are closer to herd immunity than originally thought possible

I just found out one of my former students (24 yo)who is working in Waynesboro Ga at a Nuclear construction site came home for a 4 day weekend over the Easter Holiday. When he got back to the job site he found out the pipe fitter he was working side by side each day had been hospitalized with covid 19. He tested positive and was sent home and told to isolate and monitor his health for 14 days. Ended up his GF, both of his parents and his grandparents all tested positive for the virus. Those were the main folks he spent his 4 day weekend with. He nor his GF ever got sick at all. His parents got mildly sick but both his grand parents ended up in the hospital. The grandmother died and the grand father while no longer in the hospital is still having a hard time shaking the effects of the virus and now is dealing with the loss of his wife of 55yrs.

Apparently from all I have read and heard from Drs the young healthy ones who remain asymptomatic are just as contagious as someone who is coughing their lungs out and on the verge of death. Does not give me the warm fuzzies when thinking about starting school with a shop full of 18-25yo students.

I live 20 miles from that power plant. It's been pretty prevalent there for about 6 weeks. It's moved into the countryside. I don't know of anyone that has had any life threatening symptoms

Not trying to dispute you, just telling what I e heard. I have 3 different unions who employ a lot of grads. They have not mentioned any deaths but have numerous ones hospitalized. May not have been reported locally because i am sure many traveled back home after being diagnosed. I have not heard of anyone dying from the job site.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all. I was just saying that it is very prevalent in the area. So far, not many serious symptoms. Like you said, many Plant Vogtle workers are from out of town, who knows if they stay here, or go home if infected. I was mainly talking about the permanent residents in this fairly rural area

Just heard from another of my former students from that plant said they laid the entire crew of 24 off that he was working with. His crew had only been back on the site for 3 weeks. He said a couple of the guys tested positive after one was showing symptons.

Well, my 26 year old son has it, he got diagnosed yesterday.

On Tuesday he had a fever. On Wednesday he had cold symptoms that got worse as the day went on. On Wednesday night he slept for 14 hours. On Thursday he felt much better, just a scratchy throat and mild cough. On Friday a very mild cough. Today he feels normal

We know 10 people that have died from it. 1 was an 89 year old grandmother of another infected. He is an EMT and has been sick for 2.5 months but no ventilators. The other 9 Were healthcare workers under the age of 49 and were in good health a before they got infected and died. They were traveled spread around the country but mostly, south Florida, NYC area and LA County.

Pandemics from a historical precedence point of view do take about 24 months to subside almost completely. Hopefully this one will be much less. Thankfully most infected will not have severe symptoms but if you know anyone that has been hospitalized as a result it is Hell on Earth.
