Effective Immediately Forida Shuts Down All Bars and Nightclubs For 30 Days

I posted this tweet on the TC...doing it here too, in case people don't go over there.

If you think the media is in the business of helping people you haven't been paying attention.

You still haven’t answered any questions.

And who is this terrible person called “the media?“

Media are the communication outlets or tools used to store and deliver information or data. The term refers to components of the mass media communications industry, such as print media, publishing, the news media, photography, cinema, broadcasting (radio and television), and advertising.

As you can see, “The media” is a spectrum of people and things. It’s fair to say that some of them are good people who are interested in helping people.

Is there a specific person or thing in “the media” in your mind who isn’t interested in helping people?

Your brainwash is so strong that you're actually defending the entity that is poisoning you, that's really impressive stuff from a psychological standpoint.

Unclear (to me) if this affects bars in restaurants. There was confusion in the first shut in. (Orlando closed everything with regard to alcohol but state overruled them and drinks could be served for those dining, but not at the bar.) Then the bars were open with limited seating in phase 2....but that also opened bars that didn't serve food. Many of those old bars - like the Knights Pub - are low ceiling poorly ventilated buildings that young people cram into.

There is a theory that it is the air-conditional systems that is spreading it in these crowded bars?

It also coincides to an increase in testing of the 21-35 age group, which probably already had a high percentage of infected but asymptomatic individuals. Finally, Miami Jackson Hospital said 40% of their Covid patients came to the hospitals for other reasons (pregnancy, car accidents, heart attacks, etc.) and were asymptomatic.

I think we have wide spread infections in places like Dade/Broward and we are picking that up on testing. Maybe the bars are adding into that, but that is not the main cause.

Most of the restaurants I have been to have people spread out at every other table with the staff with mask and gloves on. I did go to one Wed that was full and the staff were not wearing masks or gloves which was surprising. None of the restaurants have someone attending the door. Everyone grabs the same door handle. Also when you are sitting at a table people are constantly walking by at a much closer range than they would if they were simply just sitting at the next table. I have noticed multiple employees fiddling with the masks while touching their faces from being so uncomfortable over a long period of time. One hostess at the beach pulled her mask down to talk to us lol. I don't know the surface life of this virus but wonder if that is the most likely culprit of contagion.

CDC and WHO state it is highly unlikely that one can get infected from an inanimate object like a door knob. You also need considerable time with an infected individual, much more than someone just walking by, to get infected.

Standalone bars can’t be blamed for any spikes in Dade or Broward because they’ve been closed since March 17th....and they’ve never reopened.

Yup...waiting for the obligatory Broward closures to follow...Dade gyms shutting as well.

I'm not sure why restaurants reopened with these "halfway" openings anyway..every restaurant owner I know told me they were netting far more just doing Delivery and Takeout then when they had to staff a half full at best restaurant...

From a very small sample size here in NE Broward...I believe the PPP forced the hands of some to get up to speed, the ability to sell liquor at a much higher volume than takeout and delivery was another reason...some well established locations here never reopened for anything. Exhausting
