I like hold 'em fine but nothing beats a good game of cribbage...

Never played pinochle but always wanted to. I do play bridge but it's hard to find three other people that know how to play...

It's not easy to find people to play pinochle either. And you have to have a special deck of cards.

Bridge is great. Haven't played in years go.

Canasta is fun as well.

Spades here too.
Saturday night I bid and went Nil with an ace (Clubs) in my hand to win the game for my partner and I.

Do you play with the rule that the player with the lead has to play his low club first?

No. Who ever bids highest goes first.

Yeah, but it wasn't the ace of Clubs I passed. It was the ace of Hearts. We were way behind and needed a hail mary.

Favorite? Omaha, 7-stud, Hold'em, Pinochle in that order

Unfortunately there isn't a lot of Omaha available at the card room I go to that is reasonable for my bankroll. BigO, which is Omaha on crack, runs a PL with 5/10 blinds about once a month, standard stack is a few grand.

used to play Gin Rummy with my grandparents for hours on end. Great people - I'm sure they have a good game going in the next dimension.

Spades.. Straight up.. None of that low club for, pass a card, or highest bid BS.

Seems to be a lot of spades fans. I enjoyed it until got hooked on Tichu which is kind of like an advanced spade game. You don't have to play single cards you can play straights or multiples. Also instead of trump suit you have four special cards which do unique things (one is highest single card period but can only be played as a single, another is a card that can be half a card higher than the previous one played or serve as a wild in a straight or multiple, another is the starting card letting you play first and counts as a 1, and the other switches control to your partner) and bombs (four of a kind or a straight flush) which interrupts play and automatically gives you the win. There's some interesting scoring variations on spades as well. Basically, if you like spades you should check out Tichu.

Another vote for Bohnanza. Gloom is also great.

We called it Tunk. I'm sure that its the same thing. I won a lot of money in HS playing that game.

Poker, poker and more poker.

Growing up, played a lot of pinochle (my dad's family always had a game going at family get togethers). In college, played a lot of spades. When I retire, I think I would like to start playing bridge (in addition to poker, of course).
