How does a person decide they are transgender?
Does it come down to their own subjective feelings?
Thanks.
Pretty much. I’m sure outside influences plays a role as well. Seems like a lot of parents push their kids towards it too

In my experience working with transgender people, literally none had parents who were supportive or understanding, much less "push"ing them toward transitioning.
It is not prevalent, at all, in either the celebrity or non-celebrity world, in my experience. Parents who are LGBTQ, themselves, are well acquainted with how hard life is for people who are not cisgender, and they want for their children what I think that almost all parents want: an easier, less stressful life than they had.
I am not familiar with Matt Walsh or the documentary, therefore I have no thoughts on it.

He basically goes around asking people in the transgender community to define what a woman is and they can't do it.
It was quite comical to see everyone twist themselves into pretzels when he just asks basic questions.
Yep. It's basically arbitrary to them since anyone could define themselves as a woman if they want.
Have you listened to his podcast? I probably listened to 20 this summer. He's extremely negative and toxic, IMHO. He just attacks, attacks and attacks people.
He says he's been hacked, doxxed and gets daily death threats. He has 6 kids and has 24/7 armed security in his home.
He said on a podcast that no threats will stop him and he would "rather be dead" than silenced.
Yikes.
oof...well, that is certainly not good.

The documentary seems fairly toxic and intentionally antagonistic. That does not appeal to me.
In what setting am I being asked?

In my opinion, a woman is an adult human being who identifies with predominantly feminine social, cultural, and behavioral characteristics.
Seems accurate.I wasn’t asked but if I were I would say “ a woman is female with a womb. Like my mother who gave birth to my brother, sister and myself!
Thank God she understood what being a woman and mother truly means!
I miss her everyday!
Nah, not really, uses alot of psychological jargon, but there's little real substance and even less sincerity, just pushes his agenda.@BrainVision is educated in that field which is why I asked.
He's laid out his credentials especially in this field. What are yours?Nah, not really, uses alot of pychological jargon, but there's little real substance and even less sincerity, just pushes his agenda.
Womb would be a part of anatomy which could be removed and since there are procedures that remove reproductive parts I wouldn't include that. A woman to me is someone who was born a biological female/girl/woman whatever you want to call it. For most people you have a + (boy) or a - (girl) its that simple. Whatever you take or do after that wont change that simple fact that biologically you are one or the other not both, not neither, not one in front and one in back.I wasn’t asked but if I were I would say “ a woman is female with a womb. Like my mother who gave birth to my brother, sister and myself!

Which is why this subject is so compelling. What should be a simple answer isn't simple for some. It has to be framed a certain way and most that feel the definition is somehow fluid cant seem to do that. Itch laid it out in very simple and basic terms. It was quite comical to see everyone twist themselves into pretzels when he just asks basic questions.
As you've said before its a message board. What on here is real? Noletaire could be a nuclear physicist for all we know. He's laid out his credentials especially in this field. What are yours?
I know Brain as do many of the posters here. Noletaire could also be a very opinionated second shift fry cook at McDonald's. I would venture one is much more likely than the other. As you've said before its a message board. What on here is real? Noletaire could be a nuclear physicist for all we know.
Could be. Point is that nobody really knows. If noletaires position/opinion was different would you think otherwise?I know Brain as do many of the posters here. Noletaire could also be a very opinionated second shift fry cook at McDonald's. I would venture one is much more likely than the other.
Yeah we do. All it takes is being open minded for a moment.Could be. Point is that nobody really knows.

Would you consider this to be taking a personal shot at me?Speaking of opinions I would “venture” to say that these days there’s a shrinking gap between 1. having an opinion of someone
2. taking a personal shot at them
Nah, not really, uses alot of psychological jargon, but there's little real substance and even less sincerity, just pushes his agenda.
I've taken no personal shots at him. I asked a simple question and he, to this point, has failed to answer. Instead, he lets Geddy be his white knight and speak for him. Now you've joined the fray.I know who Brain is and he certainly has the credentials.
As to Noletaire, he’s a longtime poster as are you and I. I don’t know him or anything about him outside this board.

The guy has taken shot after shot at Brain. If he thinks he's on an equal standing when dealing with the topic at hand, lay out your credentials. It's really simple.
^^^This. Well said.Speaking of opinions I would “venture” to say that these days there’s a shrinking gap between 1. having an opinion of someone
2. taking a personal shot at them
^^^Exactly right, thank you.Shot after shot 😂
It’s a discussion. We have some thinned skinned folks around here. It ain’t that serious
Its a discussion board. Do we need to lay out credentials to have an opinion now? I dont see where anyone has said they were on any footing with anyone. They are opinions, nobody needs credentials to voice an opinion regardless of how outlandish it is.I've taken no personal shots at him. I asked a simple question and he, to this point, has failed to answer. Instead, he lets Geddy be his white knight and speak for him. Now you've joined the fray.

How about just not taking personal shots at me or anybody else?
Why can't we just have a discussion about the topic without my education, credentials, or sincerity being insulted?
I do not enjoy defending myself in this way, and like I have said in the past: if what you and noletaire like and want to do here is personally insult people, then I will just leave.
Because this is how people have been trained to disagree. When you can’t argue the message, you take down the messenger. How about just not taking personal shots at me or anybody else?

Truthfully? Yes.Would you consider this to be taking a personal shot at me?
Thank you.Truthfully? Yes.
