Due to inclement weather, the start of the No. 9Florida State vs. No. 25 Virginia Tech baseball series in Blacksburg this weekend has been delayed.

Instead of starting Friday at 6 p.m., the teams will now play a doubleheader Saturday at noon and then a third game of the series on Sunday at noon. While starting pitching matchups haven't been announced, it's expected FSU will still throw Jamie Arnold in Game 1 Saturday and Joey Volini in Game 2.

The doubleheader news is a tough break for the Seminoles considering their upcoming schedule. After playing three games on Saturday/Sunday, FSU hosts USF next Tuesday and then hosts a weekend series vs. Virginia Thursday through Saturday. That means this VT series will begin a stretch of seven games in nine days.

After winning 25 of their first 29 games this season, the Seminoles enter this week's VT series on a three-game losing streak.

Unfortunately, both Saturday games will be without a video broadcast of any kind due to other events going on at Virginia Tech this weekend. Sunday's series finale is scheduled to be broadcast on ACC Network Extra. I'll have updates throughout the doubleheader on Saturday and Bob will have updates and a story off Sunday's scheduled series finale.
