FSU sports information:

The No. 12 Florida State softball team (11-3) will return to action against Jacksonville (5-10) on Sunday at noon at Rattler Field on the campus of Florida A&M. Admission to the game is free. There will be no live stream for the game, but fans can follow along at statbroadcast.com.

After weather and travel complications kept FSU from heading to Eugene, Oregon, this weekend for the Jane Sanders Classic, the Seminoles added a game against the Dolphins as Jacksonville was already slated to be in Tallahassee to play a three game series against Florida A&M this weekend. FSU leads the all-time series against Jacksonville 19-4 and has not lost to the Dolphins since 2008.

The Seminoles got back on track last weekend at the Dugout Club Classic as they finished the tournament 6-0 with two wins over FIU, two wins over Charleston Southern and two wins over Nicholls. FSU outscored its opponents 47-11 in those six games. The offense continues to lead the way for the Seminoles as they continue to put up historic numbers. FSU has scored 113 runs through 14 games this season which is the most ever for FSU in the fast pitch softball era and the most since 1978. FSU is averaging 8.07 runs per game which ranks eighth in the country and is also posting a .370 team batting average which ranks seventh in the country. Leading the way for the Seminoles is true freshman Jaysoni Beachum. Beachum is posting a team-leading .512 batting average and has recorded a hit in 13 out of the Seminoles' 14 games. Last time out, Beachum hit two home runs against Nicholls to become the first true freshman since Kalei Harding in 2021 to have a multi-home run game.

Amaya Ross has been a pleasant surprise for the Seminole offense this season. Ross had one of the best weeks of her career at the Dugout Club Classic as she went 10-for-15 with six RBI and three triples. Ross was involved in 17 out of the Seminoles' 47 runs during the week and was a problem on th base paths going a perfect 5-for-5. Ross has now hit four triples this season which is tied for the most in the country. Ross has yet to be caught on the base paths and is one of three players in the ACC to steal 10 or more bases without being caught.

FSU responded well in the circle this last week posting a 1.08 ERA in the Dugout Club Classic. Allison Royalty continues to have a solid season for the Seminoles and last week was no different as she picked up two wins and did not allow an earned run in 9.2 innings to bring her season ERA down to 0.62. Royalty's 0.62 ERA ranks 13th in the country and is second in the ACC among pitchers who have pitched 20 or more innings.
