Florida State’s Lottie Woad, who has been ranked as the world’s No. 1 amateur golfer for the last 29 weeks, has been named the ACC Golfer of the Month for February 2025. She has earned the honor three times during her career – in September of 2023, October of 2024, and now in February of 2025.
Woad averaged 70.12 strokes in six rounds during two events in February as she earned a tied for first place finish at the Moon Invitational and a second place finish at the Collegiate Invitational. She helped the Seminoles to the team championships at both events. Woad was a total of 11 strokes under par with five of six rounds carded under par and two scores in the 60’s during the first full month of the spring season.
Woad shared the ACC Golfer of the Month honors with Stanford’s Meja Örtengren.
Woad was spectacular in earning her the second place finish in the individual standings at the Collegiate Invitational at the Guadalajara Country Club. She carded scores of 69 (-3), 72 (E), and 70 (-2) to finish under par for the 17th time in 25 events as a Seminole.
Woad finished in a tie for first place at the Moon Invitational as she completed the tournament with three consecutive rounds of under par golf (71-69-71). She played well on the final day as she finished with a score of 71 which included three birdies, and 12 additional holes played at par. Woad was 1 under par over her final seven holes to help the Seminoles fend off Wake Forest who played the final round at 5 under par.
With her second place finish at the Collegiate Invitational and her win at the Moon, she has now earned 22 top 10 finishes in her 25 events including 10 individual medalists or runner-up finishes.
Woad’s win at the Moon Invitational is the fifth of her Florida State career.
Woad has helped lead Florida State a school record three consecutive tournament championships – at the Landfall Tradition, the Collegiate Invitational, and the Moon Invitational. The Seminoles will play for their fourth consecutive victory when the play at the Briars Creek Invitational at the Golf Club of Briar’s Creek in Charleston, S.C. (March 10-11).
Florida State plays host to the jewel of its schedule – the Florida State Match Up – March 21, 22, and 23 at the Seminole Legacy Golf Course in Tallahassee. Admission and parking are free for all spectators for the Seminoles’ only home match of the season.
