I keep seeing these draft shows and mocks that say Cook has a fumbling problem so I went and looked at the number of carries and fumbles between the 2 backs. These are the numbers:
2014 (True Freshman year for both backs)
Cook - 170 carries 4 fumbles. That's 43 carries for each fumble.
Fournette- 187 carries 2 fumbles. That's 93 carries for each fumble.
2015
Cook - 299 carries 3 fumbles. That's 99 carries for each fumble.
Fournette- 300 carries 3 fumbles. That's 100 carries for each fumble.
2016
Cook - 288 carries 6 fumbles. That's 48 carries for each fumble.
Fournette- 129 carries 3 fumbles. That's 43 carries for each fumble.
So, it looks to me like the 2015 season is the best sample for comparison and the two backs were pretty much identical and if you use the most recent season Fournette was actually a little worse. I know I'm a little biased but if Cook has a fumbling problem then so does Fournette.
