As my son runs for Tallahassee Lincoln (they won the meet ;-)) I spent this weekend at FSU Relays. For those of you that don't follow track it's one of the biggest meets in the Southeast. Though there are some college teams there, this year it was FSU, Auburn, Ga. Tech, Alabama and Liberty, it is mainly a High School meet with well over 100 teams in attendance.
Most high school meets are pretty poorly run and charge admission for instance I paid $9 at Bob Hayes in Jacksonville last weekend with no reentry allowed. FSU is free, in a top rate facility and is wonderfully organized. It's a great meet.
There were people (?) all over the place wearing gator gear. To me this is just so typical of gator classlessness. If you were at the meet you most likely were there to support your kid's high school team. You sure weren't there to support the gators as they weren't running in the meet. The meet is put on by FSU and paid for by FSU to help out the community. Leave your orange and blue at home.
