Happy Hockey Season!

So that punk Drouin has decided he isn't going to play with the AHL team & is going to sit until he's traded. I know in the end he'll win & get dealt, but I'd love to see the Bolts let him sit out for a bit before dealing him.

His attitude has, no doubt, lessened his trade value. Hope he turns out to be a bust.

What a douche Drouin is. I do not see how he thinks this is going to help him get traded. If I were the Bolts I would keep him suspended unless they can get what they want out of the deal. He is either a whiny little bitch who can't hack it or he has gotten some horrific advice from his agent, or both!! I understand that things have not worked out the way you wanted, but that's life some times. You take what you can get, ask for a trade, and hope the best comes out of it. Look at a guy like Vinny Lecavalier. He didn't publically whine when he was sitting in Philly. You know he wasn't happy sitting in the press box most nights. What did he do? He stuck it out until he got a trade and now he has 5 points in 9 games with the Kings. I now really want to see a Kings/Bolts Stanley Cup, so I can see either the Bolts win or Vinny go out on top.

Great fun yesterday watching the All Star Game{s}, love the 3 on 3, amazed at the 1-0 score on the final. Scott had the last laugh scoring two goals for the Pacific and was named the MVP, also loved the fabricated fight that Kane started. Maybe he shouldn't be sent down?

This was BY FAR, the best all-star game in a long time. I think the NHL got pretty lucky with the whole Scott thing, but I loved how it turned out. I am really glad he refused to back down and ended up going. If what he says was really said to him by NHL higher-ups, then they should be ashamed of their selves. I was obviously rooting for the Atlantic, but it was super hard to not root for Scott. The players really seemed to love him there as well. I heard a story from a spectator about Scott that never made it to the press. While Burns and Pavelski were doing some duties during skills competition, Scott was down on a knee, playing with their sons who were on the ice. I think he is a truly nice guy who fell into a great deal in this game.

Well, we're the home stretch to our favorite time of the year, with the B's, Cats and Bolts in a possible photo finish. Just in before the trade deadline, Bruins sacrifice some draft picks and pick up a two journeymen to bolster the O and D, I'm glad they kept Eriksson. Look like the Bolts and Panthers held serve.

The dreaded west coast swing was not kind to the B's. 3 games and no points. That isn't good even though they have done well in this tough March and end of year stretch.

It's funny. As good as the Bolts, Kitties, and Bruins were playing, they are all struggling right now. Panthers and Bolts at 5-4-1 in their last 10 and the Bruins @ 5-3-2 in their last 10. Nobody seem to wasn't the division title. I am not sold on any of these teams competing with the likes of Washington right now. The teams are good, but wildly inconsistent. I guess we will see who wants it the most here in the next 10, or 9 for the Bruins. Bolts have 6 in a row at home and the end with a road trip of Isles, Rangers, Devils, and Montreal.

...Islanders cannot buy goals at this point - they are picking a bad time to go into a funk. Hopefully they can get just enough points to squeak in, but if they play like they are now they will get knocked out in the first round.....in 2 games!!!

I agree unless someone goes on a run in the east, which is highly likely it's Washington's to loose. They have been known but they have built themselves up to get to this point so I think they legit this year. But the West is very very deep hard to pick one team.

I have seen little but Washington has made nice additions plus improved play from a few people already there. They are a good home team, will be tough to get 4 wins over them from any team in the east. Crazy things happen but they are as good a #1 as we've seen in a while.

As usual, the west is more entertaining and wide open.

4 straight loses for the B's it will be nice to come home.
Agreed, I never thought I'd think that considering how poorly we've actually been at home this year, but dang that was an ugly road trip. Thought the stretch run tanking from last year would still be fresh in our minds. Didn't play half bad, but like NY22's Isles, can't find the net to save our lives, still lame on the power play and couldn't get a call to save our lives. Got to stop the bleeding now!

Another disallowed goal, another loss, another March swoon. Even Luongo played good against us! I'm going to keep posting on here until we win, unless we lose the next game, then I may have a change of heart, lol.

Isles and Bolts tonight.

Isles finally pulled out a win over Ottawa the other night.....it's getting to the point that I don't want to even turn on the game because the frustration may end my marriage.....and I really LOVE my wife!!!!

Claude fails to use 63 or 46. Awful shootout. Just fire Claude now. Great coach, I saw the Bruins raise the cup with him behind the bench but it time for him to go.

Yeah, barring a miracle finish I don't think he'll survive two years out of the playoffs, especially considering we choked both seasons in the stretch run.

!@#$%^&*()_+:

Hamonic is out for the playoffs for the 2nd year in a row - he may be the second most important player after Tavares - this team is cursed!!!

That's a bid ass cuss word, lol. Big loss, especially with Halak banged up. Sometimes adversity like this an be overcome with a team bunker mentality. I read where he was wanting to be traded, so this will lessen his value. Love me some Jack Capuano, former asst with the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks!

Hamonic asked to be traded - wants to be with family in Winnipeg - not sure exactly why, but I love everything about him.
1. the Isles made some nice moves to get the pick to obtain him on draft day
2. 4 years left on a very cap-friendly contract (HUGE for a franchise that does not have a lot of money to spend)
3. he will stand up for his teammates at all cost
4. very solid stay at home defensemen
5. has done his job like a champ after he asked to be traded (about 1 month into the season) and appreciates the fact that the team cannot just give him away for peanuts

This really sucks badly for the Isles.

And yes, that was one long cuss word.....but unfortunately not long enough to truly represent my frustration.

Ugh, Bruins AGAIN? Another punch to the solar plexus. They officially choked it way this week losing to Carolina and Ottawa, but it was that western road swing that seemed to shatter their confidence. That, and stinking it up in your home barn this year....bye, bye Claude.

Isles play Florida in the first round. Matchup wise I would have chosen the Penguins as an opponent. The Isles play them well and I believe could beat them in a series.

Let's see if we have enough to get out of the first round since Charlie Ward wore #17 for the Noles....

My first round picks:

Isles over Panthers in 6
Pens over Rangers in 6
Bolts over Wings in 7
Blues over Hawks in 7 *this is a tremendous rivalry and other than my islanders the one I am most looking forward to - hope they don't disappoint
Dallas over Minnesota in 5
Caps over Philly in 5 (I really want to see a lot of non-career ending injuries for both teams in this one)
Ducks over Nashville in 6
Kings over Sharks in 7 - this one looks like a good one to watch also

Who you got?

Simple playoffs for red hot Pens and nhl.
If Fleury doesnt play and Murray healthy they'll win the cup.
If Fleury gets back, 15 other teams will fight for it.
Flurry of soft goals i can't watch.

Great win by the Lightning this evening.

Pens look to have locked up game one

And as I thought the Blues and Hawks is a war.

Playoff hockey is back and the Bruins are golfing. SMH.

So what do you think about the B's keeping Claude?

Refs having way to much to do with the outcome of games this evening.

First let the Lightning and Wings game get way out of control, not that I don't like to see that.

And the Blues and Hawks. The Blues goal was offsides but a lot of bad calls towards the end. I maybe showing my age but I hate the way the new sticks break sometimes. They just snap and cause for some very weak penalties. In my day we had a Easton aluminum shaft with a Montreal M9 blade that bad boy lasted a half a year til you needed a new one.

Sorry, late on this, been tending to a sick dad in law
Isles over Florida in 7 -Picking upset also, gotta go with Capuano,
Pens over Rangers in 6 -Rangers need more than goaltending
Bolts over Wings in 6 -Bolts injuries hurt but big edge in goaltending
Blues over Hawks in 7 - Blues finally get over hump{I hope}
Dallas over Wild in 5 - New Minny franchise meets old Minny franchise, old wins
Caps over Philly in 6 - Philly trying physicality but won't have the offense to keep pace
Ducks over Preds in 7 - Still think Ducks in close one because they've been hot, but Preds won series this year
Sharks over Kings in 7 -Ok, I'm really cheating on this one, but Kings come back and make it close

So what do you think about the B's keeping Claude?
I was one of few that thought he would survive Chiarelli's firing, but this comes as a surprise to me. Sweeney and Jacobs must really love him for him to survive two late season tankings, resulting in no playoffs. I think the fan base is really restless, will it affect attendance next year or will they continue to sellout?

I am proudly old school, and cannot stand watching the amount of sticks breaking in games.....some only from a simple pass.

Tavares broke 4 or 5 sticks in one game last year......how could anyone continue using them after something like that?

They are awesome to use I have 4 or 5 of them. But they just shatter when they break and I don't like that it's a penalty now if you hit the stick. That was fair game when I was younger. It's one of those penalty's they developed to increase scoring but it effects the game negatively during crucial games.

Unfortunately Bruins fans are the most loyal fans in Boston. They didn't stop going until the Jacobs clearly didn't put a winner on the ice and the lock out. At the end of the day Claude is a top coach. So who do you replace him with? I think Sweeny didn't have a answer plus you know Montreal would love to scoop him up and they have a more talented than the Bruins right now. Right now they need to address the defense. Chara is old and slow, Soderberg isn't the same after his injury. I wish we had Johnny Boychuk.

I said a prayer to my Dark Lord, Satan, in hopes that Justin Abdelkader gets in a car accident on the way to the arena.

I haven't noticed it as much in other series, but officiating is average at BEST in Bolts/Wings series. Horrible again last night. The Bolts deserved a few of the ones they got, but how do you not call the slash on Garrison at end of 1st period?!?! I have noticed multiple times that refs are also letting Wings get away with grabbing sticks out of Bolts hands. Very blatant a few times last night and no calls.

Abdelkader is the biggest instigator and yet such a pussy. I love last night he wants to try and start something, but then when Boyle calls him on it at end of game, he wont take gloves off and fight. I love Boyle's chicken wings as he skated off the ice!!!

Isles got off the mat last night to steal one. That OT was crazy, with Islanders hanging on for dear life, then boom! Hickey saves the day!

The overturned goal on offsides was key.

Hickey does not jump in offensively that much, but when he does he makes good decisions and does not get caught up ice. For a player that small he is fairly effective both ways, though I am not quite sure how the Kings drafted him 5th overall.

Jagr was cheating to break out and got caught. Hickey made the perfect play after Jagr got caught puck watching. Great play by the two guys to get the puck in the corner to muscle it out and see the breaking Hickey.

I have never really seen a team quit in the playoffs like I did the Flyers last night. That was just strange to watch. They are obviously overmatched, but to just quit like they did was crazy. There was a Capitals PP in the 3rd where they literally just passed the puck as they slowly skated around or stood completely still. Then of course Ovi lets loose on an absolute blast from the top of the circle that finds its way straight into the net. Crazy.

The fans didn't help that. They just kept getting delay of game penalty's. One of the ugliest scenes in hockey last night.
