That is exactly what this is.

Re: Channel 4 news in jax on Jameis...

Matt Barker at the Tampa Bay Times got the scoop. Kinsman filed her civil case in the wrong county.

It's intended more to get her money than to hurt him. It's simply about her getting a pay day. They timed this we'll both from the venue standpoint and the "need to get this behind Jameis" standpoint.

She wins.
And unfortunately that will probably be exactly what happens.
I really hope this does not happen. He needs to fight this on principle alone. If the buc and NFL are worried about their reputation, then let them pay up.
It causes unneeded negative attention to the league. They won't want a dark cloud casting over JW. Pay her and move on.
It's waaay too past that. Winston and his family already see their rights being infringed on because of her so heck no. He'll want to do this to make a point and clear his name more. She handled this the wrong way to get a pay off.

It's hard to imagine him not settling. Give her $2MM or whatever and make her go away forever. That sucks but it's probably the easiest thing to do. Her side has done some dumb things but this looks well timed.

AllNoles I understand what you are saying, but I highly doubt he changed his residency back to Alabama (or Cali) for 4 months.. He is most likely still a Florida resident.

How is this surprising? She hasn't been paying her lawyers out of her own pocket, this has been the play all along. Thing is, Winston will be paying his out of his own pocket. It will be so much cheaper for him just to pay her to shut up rather than keep this circus in town and on everybody's lips for at least a year or so until its time for trial.

Dude is going to pay. It sucks, but its smart. And the media will spin it like he had something to hide. It is what it is.

She can't win.. If she couldn't get to the 51%needed in the COC case (with no cross examination in her and her able to tell any lie she wants not under oath) there is no way she will be able to get past all of her stories.

Jameis and his witnesses have been spot on the entire time. Same story. End of story.

Anyone surprised ?
Her crack legal team is on the case, smelling a
whiff of a big payday as they have been hiding in the weeds just waiting
to pounce. They must be thinking Jameis is preoccupied with the draft
and will not have the time, or energy and will just want this to all go
away. ( thank you Capt Obvious ! ) I sure hope he fights this tooth
and nail and not fold under pressure. The talking heads will be busy
fanning the flames of righteous indignation, pointing to that
brilliant, so called "documentary" ( and by saying documentary I mean a
Mocmentary spinning the Great Prevarication)

The likes of
Matt Baker and that idiot Schlabaugh will gain more press and TV time,
ever ready to spin the story revealing that they were the watch dogs
revealing the bad actors in The War on Women.

My hope and dream
is the Jameis will buy the best legal team possible to fight this
injustice.( he's going to pay in one way or another... I hope the
accuser doesn't get a dime ) As far as counter suing goes I don't know
if any monetary damages can be recouped . I would like some of the TC
attorneys chime in and opine.

On another note, I was watching
Imus in the Morning today and Warner Wolf was saying that some of these
so called draft experts picked Leonard Williams #1, MM #2, and Jameis
falling to #10. I LOLed. Warner Wolf also reported the Jameis story
as if he was guilty and reported this as fact. Now in Warner's case
he's not ideological just lazy and just guilty of not doing any
digging.
The Baker's and the Schlabaugh's of this world should
volunteer to fight a group like Boco Haram ...there's your War on Women
but no such volunteering will be forth coming and we all know why.

Can all of the deleted internet messages and tweete be used now?

Yeah, b/c the overall #1 pick in the NFL needs financial aid.

You ever paid for a team of lawyers to take a multimillion dollar civil action to trial? Paying them by the hour? Huge global corporations don't even like doing that. It's bad business.

And you have no right to be pissed if he makes a business decision, sparky. Remember the ESPN special on all the athletes that go broke? Listening to people like you is a good way to start him down that path.

Per the article, she's suing him for 15 grand. If I'm Jameis, I'm writing her a check and saying, "Here, b!tch".

I feel like Winston will settle to just put it behind him and move on.

As we all know, this has been a money grab all along.

Kinsman's lawyers originally asked for 7 million right?

The thought of that woman getting paid for telling numerous stories/lies makes me sick.

This. The play all along was noise to "encourage" a settlement when Jameis was finally going to get paid.

The reasons to settle unfortunately far outweigh the reasons to fight it- we as fans want him to fight and clear his name but for the sake of Jameis actually getting on with his life he will chalk up one of the most expensive one night stands that didn't result in a baby.
She has caused too much noise already to settle now. I hope he blasts her to the poor house.

Public Opinion is changing

Sport Center just released the news about Jameis being sued and reading through comments on Facebook it's definitely a 180. People are now seeing her as a gold digger and liar.

Maybe this move backfires on them.

That would just encourage more skanks from pulling this crap on others.
