As explained by Tom Block following both calls against us, and the one against USF, yesterday: It doesn't matter that you didn't lead with your helmet, launch yourself, or make helmet-to-helmet contact. If a player makes contact with another player above that player's shoulders and in the official's view that player was defenseless, under this season's new definition it's a targeting violation. Wow. It's almost like they're trying to invent a new game.
