Erika has dissipated as a tropical cyclone. NHC will issue a Special Advisory shortly. Tropical storm watches/warnings being discontinued.

Was all the worrying when it was still over 1,000 miles away worth it? Smh
 
Some say, economists exist to make weathermen look good.
 
Now what the hell am I supposed to do with 28 gallons of bottled water and 3 dozen jars of peanut butter?

Don't blame the Hurricane Center. They never issued any watches for the state of Florida. It was the media that went crazy.
 
Just saw the local news clowns telling us with great excitement about the "ravages" of Erika.....some trailer park had rain-related "flooding issues" (a drainage problem, really, since they built it in a swamp), and another neighborhood had a tree down!! Oh, the horrors of it all. Then they breathlessly announced that yet another weather system is developing off the African coast!!!

Local TV seems like one of those gigs that might be fun for 60-90 days......at some point, however, reading the police blotter, covering city council meetings, and drumming up weather crises would get boring, it seems to me.
