I've been through the anger, disbelief, sadness. . .I think I am in the acceptance phase.
My daughter is going to uf.
She has been to Tallahassee all throughout her youth, attending games of all sports. Myself, my wife, my wife's sister, my brother-in-law, one of her cousins. . . are all FSU alumni. She is ranked number 6 in her class academically, and has been accepted everywhere she has applied, most offering additional scholarship funds. Her boyfriend plans on going into nuclear engineering and has planned to attend uf for quite a while. My daughter has decided on dentistry, and. . .well. . .FSU doesn't offer a dentistry program. So, all the pieces fell where they did, and that is her decision.
Obviously, I'm proud of her academic accomplishments, and am happy she is furthering her education, and honestly her decision makes sense. It's the, "Ohhhh, you're going to have to get Gator clothes now" or "Now you're going to have to root for Florida now" from friends and family. No, no I'm not. I'm going to root for my daughter to be happy and successful, but UF athletics can rot on the vine.
I just wanted to talk about it.
Thanks guys.
I still have a son who is a sophomore baseball pitcher, who is developing his changeup and slider quite nicely. . .there's still hope.
