Jimbo seemed as noncommittal as he could be regarding the QB race coming out of Spring Practice. The last QB race (i.e. 2013) even though Jimbo didn't name Winston the starter he made comments that indicated that it was leaning that way when he said the reason he didn't name Winston the starter is that he wanted to see how they battled in Fall camp.
Regarding McGuire, from what I've seen we can win some game with him, but can we be elite? I don't think so in my opinion. I see us as a 9-3 type of team with McGuire. We may beat the cupcakes but it would be hard to beat Georgia Tech or Clemson on the road with him.
Now if McGuire is our best option I'll support him. But judging from Jimbo's comments I think this thing is wide open. I think Cosentino and DeAndre Johnson are way more talented but Jimbo knows they need time to totally master the offense. Thoughts?
