Live updates: FSU-Duke in ACC Tournament title game

Weird moment here. Edenfield lines one to third base that seemed to be caught but then dropped. No ump ever called an out and the throw to first base was off target.

For now, FSU has runners on second and third with one out on the error, but the play is being discussed now. My question here is how they can retroactively award an out if that didn't happen live?

I am aghast at that call. They say that the Duke third baseman caught it (she may have but they didn't call it live) and then give Duke an inning-ending double play even though the throw to first was an off-target error.

I'm at a loss for words. One of the most stunning calls I have ever seen.

Nobody called it a catch in live action. Due to that there was no reason to go back and tag up. How can they call it a catch after the fact?? Just awful.

Apparently the home-plate ump called the out. But he did it while the third baseman was dropping the ball. Just an insane series of events.

Yeah I see that now, called it immediately; but then the ball popped out. . . He should have then reversed his call. I’m disgusted.

That was a total blown call by the home plate umpire who had no reason to be making the call in the first place. We have 4 umpires on the field for a reason.

It's not just that they are piling up wins consistently its the way they compete, their toughness and the way they carry themselves. We totally get hosed on a call at 3rd (Nobody seems to get too excited), we just stay focused and do what it takes to win when it seemed as though we were headed for extras.
