After a close win Thursday night, the 10th-ranked Florida State baseball team (28-5, 8-5 in ACC) continues its rivalry series with Miami (16-17, 6-10) Friday at 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
With FSU down two weekend starters this week, the Seminoles will give freshman left-handed pitcher Brady Louck (0-0, 1.54 ERA) his first career weekend start vs. the Hurricanes. This will be Louck's first appearance in an ACC game but he has twice pitched in midweek games against Florida, allowing two earned runs over 2.1 innings with six strikeouts. It's unclear exactly how stretched out Louck is pitch-count wise entering his first weekend start. His career-long outing entering Friday is 3.2 innings vs. Jacksonville on April 2nd.
Miami will counter with LHP Rafe Schlesinger (2-2, 4.34 ERA), who has allowed 22 earned runs over 45.2 innings this season.
Here are the starting lineups for Friday's second game of the series:
FSU
Miami
For the second time this week, the Marching Chiefs will be in attendance at Friday's game, playing in the right-field bleachers starting an hour before the game begins and remaining through the end of the game. I'll be live from Howser with updates tonight.
