For the travelers out there, if you are a Marriott/SPG guy. They are running a promotion that, for every two-night stay, you get an extra night to count towards your yearly total. I have gotten close to Platinum level but never been able to cross that 75 night threshold, but thinking I will be able to do it now.

I'm at 96 nights so far this year.... soooooo, I'll still take the free credits, but they don't do me much good. Platinum Elite is a good place to be thought.

I just signed up for two stays by January gets you a free night. I used to travel a decent amount, but not anymore. If I get two stays in and score a free night, I'll be happy. Not going to reach a meaningful yearly night stay total.

Hilton Hhonors Diamond here for the last several years. I only need 60 nights or 30 stays in a year. The perks really aren't that great, though.

The last promotion Hilton Honors ran...

Are you lifetime platinum elite? 750 nights and 2 million points is the benchmark.

Is it a free night stay or is it a night stay added toward your total nights for the year?

A night stay added to your total nights for the year. I'm at 50. Didn't think that I would get to platinum, but with this deal, I may..

This is my last year of being Platinum (for a long while, hopefully anyway).

I'm lifetime Gold:

Nights: 733
Points: 1,800,192

I'll get to the Lifetime Platinum nights easily, but it's going to take awhile to bang out 200,000 more points since I've switched jobs and not really traveling much anymore.

The consulting life was fun for a while, but damn if I have to order from the Marriott menu one more time, I'll go crazy.

I think a free night stay:

MegaBonus
  • Register by November 30, 2017
  • Stay at any of our participating hotels and resorts worldwide between September 12 and January 15, 2018
  • Earn a free night after two paid stays*.

Earn a free night – and more bonus points for your stays through January 15, 2018.

*A 'stay' is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity.

You are correct. I miss read it. It is a free night at a Class 1 - 5 hotel.

Pretty sure it's two stays. Not a 2 night stay. And it's a free night, period. Not credits. I just completed my 93rd night for the year.... the freebies can be redeemed at Ritz as well so I'll use them for vacay later!

Platinum for Life.

Nights since 2003: 1,335

I only have around 500,000 points currently. I use them to travel every two years abroad, stay in Tallahassee for 3 games a year and usually travel to Chicago or New York for the wife. I think my travel will become a lot less soon so happy I'm at least Platinum for Life.

That's a lot of nights!

How many lifetime points do you have? Must be at least 2.5 - 3 million, eh?

Damn...that 's a lot of travel. I was a Hilton guy early in my career. But been loyal Marriott guy for the past 7 or so years.

How do you find it? I'll quickly check if it is on spg.com
It's on Marriott.com

You go to your "Profile" and underneath your current year's nights and points, there's a link that says "Details." When you click it, you'll see your Lifetime nights and points.

I'm inept. I checked and it doesn't show anything regarding detail. All my points were earned at SPG.com. Let me email my ambassador and see what he says.

I'm probably the last person who found this out, but did you guys know that you can transfer your SPG points to Marriott and vice versa, one time, when you link your accounts?

I've barely ever stayed at SPG properties, but I did have a paltry ~2500 points with them. Marriott gives you 3-for-1 points but you can only transfer increments of 1,000. So I transferred 2,000 SPG points over to my Marriott Rewards account and got 6,000 Marriott points added to my total.

Better than a poke in the eye!

Yes! that was a great addition to the Marriott's reward program.
