Why should she be inconvenienced and leave the company? She's not the one committing the fireable offenses. The incidents seem to have occurred over a good amount of time. Not understanding why anyone would remain there and take that kind of abuse.
What I don't get is why doesn't this guy just go to a bar, or get on some dating app, and meet girls that way. It's NYC, there are girls every-freaking-where.
I think the other part is just never being told "no" in life.Sounds like he started at the bar and then went to work.
And because its not really about sex / girls. Its mostly about being able to force your will on someone else. Getting sexual gratification is only part of it for many of these offenders IMO.
Why DID he hump a door?
That remains the most interesting part of the article.
Dutch!Maybe he had dendrophilia. What kind of doors were they?
Why should she be inconvenienced and leave the company? She's not the one committing the fireable offenses. She filed a report with HR, who seemingly did next to nothing.
At that point, you document everything you can and try to get every penny out of that company that you can -- and publicly shame this moron while you're at it.
Pretty sure he was asking why she was still working there...I'm not sure he's advocating her leaving. I think what he's saying why wait till 2017 to file suite. It seems she had MORE than enough ammo in 2015 to do what she finally did in 2017.
As for why she waited, frankly it's none of our business. Perhaps it was embarrassment, being afraid of getting blackballed in the industry, rationalizing his behavior to herself, or any number of reasons - including the arbitration clause in her contract. Regardless I'm not sure why that's a topic of discussion or skepticism other than to hopefully empower more women to come forward sooner. Not understanding why anyone would remain there and take that kind of abuse.

A grown man using the term "boobies"? Really?I'm not sure he's advocating her leaving. I think what he's saying why wait till 2017 to file suite. It seems she had MORE than enough ammo in 2015 to do what she finally did in 2017.
In July 2015, Legg “aggressively grabbed at Ms. McIlraith’s breasts in the office kitchen and tried to open her sweater,” sending her running into her cubicle, the complaint says.
In November 2015, while waiting for McIlraith at a client meeting, he texted her, “Maybe I’ll suck on your boobies,” according to a copy of the exchange included in the complaint.
I can also assure you he can't be shamed.
I maintain she shouldn't have to leave. If the company was unwilling to remedy the situation, she was right to stay and attempt to have things remedied through the courts or other external parties. Is that a company to stay with though if a report was filed and nothing was done?
you seem upset. why? It's not binary, she could have done both in 2015.
