Folks, need a bit of help. We're going to be going through New Orleans tomorrow (Sunday) from 330 to 630 or so and would like to hit up a nice restaurant not in the French Quarter

The epitome of Nawhlins food since 1880, Commander’s Palace, is in the Garden District not really that close to the French Quarter. That would be my choice, it’s been a classic serving high level Creole food for 138 years. I’d definitely put it in my top 5 or NOLA restaurants even though everyone crows over the brand new restaurants and those created by new celebrity chefs.

Used to be a great place called Jackomo’s (sp?) 15 minutes outside of the French Quarter. Don’t know if it’s still around but I’ve been there twice and really enjoyed the experience and the food.

Can't go wrong with Mother's in the CBD try the Debris Po'Boy. Be advised tables are first come first served i.e. not reserved gotta be quick.
