Sadly trueHow bout people take accountability for their actions? He didn’t have a joint in the car. I’m also sure he’s not going to do hard time for this but what a moron.
That’s impossible I think ?I have two friends who smoke over a pound a week. 3 pounds ain’t even a month supply for them
Riding around with that load in Colorado bumps you up to intent to sell and carries a 2-6 stint at the Graybar Hotel and a $500k fine…throw in the false tags on the car and having a stolen gun and you’re looking at some serious vacation time.Naw, they live in Colorado where having weed on the car is assumed, not criminalized.
But in a lot of cases it should be. The weed is one thing, the stolen firearm is a big deal. Gotta be smarter than that and if you're not you need to spend some alone time thinking about the decisions you are making.I know he isn't ganging . He just got caught being careless. Stupidity isn't a crime.
Correct - chronic bronchial failure would come way before being burned-out at a consumption rate of over two ounces a day. That’s impossible I think ?
That first line was funny as hell.My older son, who isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, was in court a few years ago and my wife sat in on the morning session. From what she told me of the RANK STUPIDITY of some of these people they were parading in there was unbelievable. If I was a judge I’d consider putting a bullet in my head.
Thanks. And the scary part is that he wasn’t the stupidest guy in the room. Geez! That first line was funny as hell.
4Which commandment was it, never get high on your own supply…
The risks for lung cancer has to be through the roof with doing this. It’s a pound between the two of them. But yea, it’s insane. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen them not stoned.
Arent a lot of police cars equipped with cameras that run all plates they catch? Not that I’m a fan of that but I have heard at least some have that tech. If so the fact the plates didn’t match would be a good reason to pull folks over. And I have no issue with continuing a stop when they smell weed. Or beer. Or liquor. Legal doesn’t mean they should be doing it driving.I can easily see a racial angle, but I like to wait for facts before jumping to a conclusion.
The angle, would be a case of DWB, though. You see a Black dude driving a Vette and decide to run his plates? I didn’t see any mention in the article about any behavior that warranted running his plates. Then like the other guy said, using the smell of weed as an excuse to search people and property has started to be nixed in a number of states. Marijuana criminalization is a dumb law that is all about institutionalized slavery.
That being said, Nigel should have taken his opportunity and never looked back. Whether it’s his drugs and gun or someone else’s, it shouldn’t have been in his car. If he was smart with his money, he should be very rich. Move yourself to a state where it’s legal, or get a medical card. Buy a legal gun. All very simple actions.
Never heard of that tech, but wouldn’t surprise me. I doubt they’re sophisticated enough to also recognize the mismatch of a plate to a vehicle, without the cop reviewing the plate information. I’d be more willing to bet that the cop profiled him than a super camera doing so.Arent a lot of police cars equipped with cameras that run all plates they catch? I am all about legalization. And I think a lot of our drug laws have had a very bad impact on minorities. They’ve been unfair in their very existence but even worse in application. But in today’s world you can’t have a stolen gun and pounds of weed. It’s just dumb.
I have two friends who smoke over a pound a week. 3 pounds ain’t even a month supply for them
A pound a week? Call me dubious. I don't think even Bob Marley smoked that much. 😂
Right, lets allow all stolen firearms to be possessed like legal ones and while were at it allow cars to be driven without plates. Why have laws at all?again, another stupid arrest, what a waste of resources. maybe the gun thing can get you a little probation but this is such a waste of time and money,
That 3lbs was for his own personal use, he needs a lot to deal with all the aches and pains of playing football for so many years. lol. Sad situation, very poor decision.Makes no sense on so many levels. Why is anyone even selling weed anymore, let alone someone with his type of money. Lol. Cant make this stuff up.
Ok lets drop the 3 lbs of pot that were just for personal use. Now we only have the car without assigned tags and a stolen gun. Both a non issue I guess? How bout we stop criminalizing weed and throwing the book at black men and all poor men in general for marijuana offenses.
Pretty sure the weed charge will be dropped but its the no tag and illegal gun that's the real problem and just poor judgement. How bout we stop criminalizing weed and throwing the book at black men and all poor men in general for marijuana offenses.
Automated license plate readers (ALPRs) capture computer-readable images of license plates. These high-tech devices allow law enforcement agencies to compare plate numbers against those of stolen cars or cars driven by people suspected of being involved in criminal or terrorist activities.Never heard of that tech, but wouldn’t surprise me. I doubt they’re sophisticated enough to also recognize the mismatch of a plate to a vehicle, without the cop reviewing the plate information. The thing about using the smell of weed to search is that the smell stays on both fabrics and other people as well as the driver. It could just as easily been a passenger with a medical marijuana card or his previous passenger that left the smell on his car seat. Without a valid concern regarding the drivers behavior, it’s too often used as another way to put a Black person in jail. You already mentioned the impact on minority, but it’s been statistically proven that minorities are arrested by police for minor drug charges much more often compared to their actual drug usage. Nigel’s case may or may not be another example.
I don't even think it's possible. The risks for lung cancer has to be through the roof with doing this.
Too many for-profit prisons would go bankrupt? How bout we stop criminalizing weed and throwing the book at black men and all poor men in general for marijuana offenses.
My police dept. here has those. They can drive up and down the rows of a parking lot and they read every parked car tag.Automated license plate readers (ALPRs) capture computer-readable images of license plates. Don’t disagree. It’s a mess. I’m just not sure this is the case that shows it. I also think it’s stupid to have your car smelling like that. It’s just asking for trouble.Never heard of that tech, but wouldn’t surprise me. But, I’m guessing it doesn’t somehow read the make and model of the car it’s on? That would require a person to check it to see if it matches, correct? My police dept. here has those. They can drive up and down the rows of a parking lot and they read every parked car tag.
I don't think so. It most likely just flags the tag, I think. But, I’m guessing it doesn’t somehow read the make and model of the car it’s on? That would require a person to check it to see if it matches, correct?
No but I bet a lot of cops look at the make model compared to licenses when they’re just rolling slowly. But, I’m guessing it doesn’t somehow read the make and model of the car it’s on? That would require a person to check it to see if it matches, correct?
Figured as much. Thanks.I don't think so. It most likely just flags the tag, I think.
Especially when there’s a young Black guy driving a $100,000 vehicle, I bet.No but I bet a lot of cops look at the make model compared to licenses when they’re just rolling slowly.
If a camera scans the plate from say a police car the info on the make and model will come up on the computer screen in the police car. If it says 96 Ford F150 and there is a Corvette in front of you then there's and issue. Probably was some sort of probable cause like tail lite out or traffic violation. In this case it could be a Fast Times type thing with smoke rolling out the windows. But, I’m guessing it doesn’t somehow read the make and model of the car it’s on? That would require a person to check it to see if it matches, correct?
He could passively scan plates while driving. When the Vette comes up as Ford F150 bingo! The cop doesn't need to call it in unless they don't have that tech but its out there. I sure hope folks dont pay six figures for a Chevrolet.Especially when there’s a young Black guy driving a $100,000 vehicle, I bet.
You don't follow the prices of cars much do you.He could passively scan plates while driving. When the Vette comes up as Ford F150 bingo! The cop doesn't need to call it in unless they don't have that tech but its out there. I sure hope folks dont pay six figures for a Chevrolet.
Not those type cars had to look it up. I could get a BMW M Sport Competition or a Decked out Range Rover for that kind of coin. You don't follow the prices of cars much do you.
